More doodles of my new Metkayina guy ... I still haven't captured the vibe I want from him

He's a strange, silent loner who stalks inexperienced young reef Na'vi, waits for them to catch a bunch of fish and then robs them of their catch ... sometimes he also lurks near villages and steals food from them while everyone sleeps. No one knows where be came from or why he is like this, but he has become enough of a nuisance among the neighboring villages that they've started debating on how to ... solve the situation. His spirit brother has stopped talking about him to the other tulkun since [THE INCIDENT], but the two still meet up sometimes in secret...

Day 6: promises and secrets

There is a reason why everyone has been ... rather strange around the young couple who has come to visit. Tä'yari and the kids have been welcomed warmly, but when it comes to her husband, Atanvi, there seems to be resentment in the air. Sämyam can't take this awful atmosphere anymore and finally decides to tell Tä'yari the truth about why her husband really left the clan for so long.

This is a collab with @nin3kyuu ! You need to check out their post to get the second half of the image ;)

Day 3: Traditions & Celebrations

Every month, the Syorkilvan gather in a secret cave that is only accessible through an underwater pathway. They sit, chat, dance, consume the glowing pink substance covering the huge roots and connect to Eywa, together. They also sing songs in remembrance of the time a great evil forced them underground into the caves and Eywa kept them fed with the pink substance for months. It's Syulang's favourite tradition! She loves experiencing this deep connection to all her friends and family. If only her sister Tsmi would share the same sentiment ... alas, this is the third time the young woman has skipped out on the ceremony, preferring to sit alone somewhere and brood instead.

Day 2: leadership

Ikeyni, Olo'eykte of the Tayrangi clan

Side note: do you think Na'vi with other skin colors (referring to the greenish-blue Metkayina) were planned during Avatar 1? Jake goes around gathering all sorts of clans to help him fight and only blue-skinned Na'vi are visible.

It feels kinda weird to me that the same shade of blue is prevalent in 90% of the clans we see (including the recent Frontiers of Pandora game) and only the reef Na'vi (who obvs only showed up in Avatar 2) deviate from that. I haven't looked at the Avatar 3 leaks too much to avoid spoiling myself, but the ash people seem to have some kinda pale blue/purple/grey colour going on.

So circling back to my question: were different skin colors planned during Avatar 1 and just weren't featured or did James Cameron intentionally make the Metkayina/reef Na'vi (and only them) deviate from the same shade of blue we got used to?

Day 1: "My heart is shaped by my home"

I always imagined Neytiri to have the hardest time adjusting to the family's new home on the reef. The kids had each other and their new friends, even Jake found a sort of mentor figure in Tonowari, but Neytiri? Not only did she have to bury a son there, but it doesn't even seem like she really found any connection to the Metkayina or discovered any love for the reef. She's a forest Na'vi through and through and will probably be the last member of the family to truly adopt the way of the water, if at all.
