I think I’ve realized that subconsciously one of the reasons I think Wait For Me from Hadestown is one of the greatest love songs for me is because a lot of people who are really important to me always end up leaving. Not like leaving me/ending the specified relationship we have but either the Event that connect us has ended or they must move on to a different time of their life while I’m at a different part of mine so we are physically separated by a life that we cannot be mutually apart of for the time being. But it feels more often than not that I’m the one “left behind” and when im the one leaving it feels really crappy.
But in WFM even tho they both left each other to fix what they needed (he left during the storm, she left with hades) he knew that his life wouldn’t be fulfilled if she wasn’t with him so he asked her to wait until he could join her again and promised he was doing everything in his power to be there. As the “left behind” , the idea that someone would go through hell to CATCH UP to you because their “I have to move on in life” means moving on to where you are is the most beautiful and comforting thing.

- Heeey, all those fics have happy endings!! Sure, I describe Mappi's dead bf and make you watch their painful argument, and I make Amane remember her trauma/you remember her trauma -- but they end happy!!! That's gotta count for something... right...? Regarding the hcs, those don't count because they were you guys' requests that made me sad too 😭
- Speaking of, I do believe OOA was your idea first 🤔 Who's to say you wouldn’t have gone the eyepatch route as well, hm? We don't have proof on that...
