I.... thought this would be a silly way to end it, given my renegade nature of smashing two stories together to make a new one for me. I think Genesis would be the worst Cinderella candidate but yknow what? it'd be fun and this is my blog.

This isn't actually the Ever After au, that's with my OC Avel and a buttload of extra worldbuilding that doesn't exist in the source movie. Genesis is in it though, in the post-canon as a little treat.

This picture is separate of that, though. Genesis is just suffering a dress bc he needed to see Cloud and try to tell him the truth (that he's the farmboy who threw apples at his head, not a courtier maiden). I turned the dress from white to red, bc Genesis, but otherwise I didn't spend a bunch of time making this Different from the movie. So if you know, you know.

the actual reason I consume mediocre media is because I have bad taste. the deeper secret pretentious reason is because I think there’s something very revealing about bad media that you don’t get with good media. when you watch a poorly executed plot point unfold, you see the machinery behind it. you see the gap between what’s actually on screen and the true goal the author is striving for. if it’s particularly awful, you can even measure just how poorly mismatched the author’s skills are with the story they’re trying to tell you. watching a poorly executed narrative play out feels like you’re discovering something, because you see all the wiring and guts underneath that better authors hide from you, in the same way that movies hide boom mics and books make you forget you’re turning the pages. if a story is good and executed well you just see the story. but I want to see the guts and wires!

It's so weird to me when people are like 'but that will cost the government money!' So what? They're the government, they're supposed to be spending money. What, you want them to take your tax dollars and then do nothing with it? Lock it all up in a big government vault and just look at it? Why are you so scared of giving a third grader lunch or a homeless person a house.

hey is there any overlap between Jak and Daxter fans and Final Fantasy XV fans, or is it just me and like one other guy? XD

and is the overlap between ignoct fans and jaktorn fans even smaller (ie: just me)?

I'm not actually going to tag them bc this is me going renegade (ha), but ostensibly the vibes of this count for the ignoct week enemies to lovers prompt in my heart. (Jak and Torn aren't technically enemies at any point but they do antagonize one another, soooooo)

Could I ship Jak/Keira? yeah. In the context of this AU? no. (in the context of the canon games? it's not as fun to follow the canon when you're reading fanfic so like ???)

I haven't actually assigned all the characters for this theoretical JnD AU actually, my mind's going BRRRRRR too hard. Noctis, Regis, and Ardyn are set (Ardyn's position is dubious but I'll hold to him being Jak II's biggest bad rather than Jak 3's bitchass villain), but like everyone else I can make a case for being BASICALLY ANY CHARACTER I WANT and that's too much power. I mighta assigned Prompto to three different characters as potentials, and even Ignis got a few different options along the way. I am not actually giving brainspace to this, I've got like...... too many crossover AUs that are taking up my worldbuilding ram (Ladyhawke AU, Laputa AU, HZD AU, Gunbuster AU, Ever After AU... I am the king of the crossover AU........), so this is just a fun thought experiment for now.

But I welcome other options for which character is which in the swap. :3
