Gender Neutral/Unisex Essentials: Pants

*Both images made by me, found on my pinterest: mxrusababy.

Here’s the essentials guide that I’m basing this off:

Last time we did long skirts, now it’d time for pants!

*Note: You do not need to be nonbinary to dress this way and vice versa.

Pants generally worn by everyone thanks to the 1960s and 1970s popularizing them for women in America. In multiple cultures like, like in Persia, East and Central Asia, the Inuit, etc, pants were worn culturally for centuries by everyone. Pants are a practical and versatile garment, as they come in many shapes and sizes and be worn in many situations and with many styles.

Examples of pants:

⁃ Baggy

⁃ Straight leg

⁃ Boot cut

⁃ Denim jeans

⁃ Cargo

⁃ Sweatpants

⁃ Bell bottoms

⁃ Palazzo

⁃ Khakis

⁃ Wide leg

Gender Neutral/Unisex Essentials: Long Skirts

*Both collages are from my pinterest: mxrusababy

This the list of essentials i’ve compiled that we’ll be going through:

First on the list: long skirts!

*Note: You do not need to be nonbinary to dress this way and vice versa.

Long skirts are generally gendered as neutral particularly due to historically unisex labelling across cultures. The skirt’s length is usually from the knee down, any higher may be more likely to be read as feminine though it depends. The shapelessness too helps create ambiguity as the shape of the body can not be used as a factor in gendering someone, which can be helpful if one feels dysphoric about their body from the waist down.

Examples of long skirts:

⁃ Long pleated skirts

⁃ Long denim skirts

⁃ Long accordion skirts

⁃ Long asymmetrical skirts

⁃ Long straight skirts

⁃ Long a-line skirts

⁃ Long circle skirts

White people love to be like "I avoid Black people because I'm scared I'll accidentally be racist to them" and think it's 1) somehow not racist to do this 2) a normal thing to do and admit

There's a deeply compulsive urge in a lot of White people to flay themselves open in this bizarre, uncomfortable confessional way where they just NEED Black people to forgive them for, idk, being white?? And they will openly admit to the wildest shit with the most pleading expressions and it's insane to me

Every time a Black person is like "the reason for x behavior is racism" they will get swarms of people being like "I DO THIS, BUT PLEASE HEAR ME OUT" like I need you people to please get a grip, you are talking to a person and what you are saying is absurd

shut the fuck up cracker

What did you think you were doing here?

I have had to leave so many BIPOC-predominant groups because of y'all ableism. The fuck do you think you're doing wanting white people to not be racist, getting up in arms over tiny things, when you can't even respect the most marginalized White people who want to be in solidarity with you? The microaggressions build up.

You say all that, and still only blame all poc and threw them all under the bus

Which congrats, you are both racist and abelist towards us

I won't treat you like a baby, because we give babies grace even though they can still kill us. I'll just call you a cracker, and you can simply move on. But you're not a leftist if you're racist 🤷🏾‍♀️

And you also dodged answering my question like a child of what prompted this

Anonymous asked:

This is idea that wanting to be androgynous and non-binary is bad or oppressive or "trinary" in a way. It really hurts as an androgyne because it makes it impossible to ask for tips to present androgynously because your whole replies are filled with "you don't have to!!" which is basically just telling me to go back into a binary box and be ignored forever.

You never see discussion around androgyny, achieving it (socially or medically), dysphoria surrounding it, or wanting it. The only discussion is about how non-binary people shouldn't want it because we "don't have to!!"

And this idea that non-binary people are oppressed specifically for not presenting androgynously. We are oppressed for being non-binary. No matter how we present, we are seen as being completely invalid because of being non-binary!!! Androgyny is a transient thing.

this is exorsexism.

i feel as if enbies have to always choose between one or the other, transmasc or transfem, amab or afab, fem or masc, and i think discouragin people to dress androgynously is apart of this. saying it’s enforcin a trinary to be an androgynous enby so they have to subscribe to the already existin binary is wack asf.

gotta be honest with you, i'm not too sure about this thing ppl say of "conservatives" being irrationally opposed to "trans people just existing" or whatever. i guess controversial take but no they actually have very concrete reasons to oppose bodily autonomy and the destabilization of sexual roles we represent considering their views on sex/gender and social reproduction overall actually. obviously we must oppose those views as they are 1. wrong and 2. oppressive but like. it's not like they just chose a random minority to hate. i mean otherwise why do you think it's specifically us.

Yeah so many people don't relise that gender affirming care for cisgender people (people who are not trans) can be:

Hair cuts

Shaving

Skin care

Botox

Brest implants

Erectile dysfunction treatment

Clothes

Makeup

Some cis women even go on HRT after menopause!

can't say i love the aro community becoming increasingly hostile to aroaces, especially when a lot of us have already been alienated from the ace community for the exact same reason. i don't like the conflation of asexuality and aromanticism either, but some people seem to be getting reallll comfortable with casual acephobia. like. man just say you hate ace people, you're not special

imma be real i definitely clocked this behavior way back when ESPECIALLY during aro week in february.

i wish there was more of a community here, more solidarity.
