So I checked up on this case, and it turned out his sentence was reduced…
to 55 years.
55 years for a unsuccessful burglary, theft, and the murder of a friend that was killed by police, when his only crime was breaking and entering when he was 15 years old.

As of March 2023, his sentence was reduced to 30 years. I know there’s a lot going on in the world, but if you can even just spread his story, please do! It makes a difference.
his petition is still sitting at 911,000 out of a needed 1 million signatures. maybe if we start spreading the word again we could get some justice for Lakeith
He needs to be released yesterday and the law that put him in prison needs to go.

Lu is new to teaching, she just started working at a preschool. She was a chef before she went back to school to get her teaching license. She has been coaching little league soccer since she was a teenager, though. Kids really gravitate towards her because she doesn't talk down to them. Her kids just adore her, they call her coach Lu. She has a little trouble with classroom management, but she's getting there.

So basically. Lucy always wanted a baby but never wanted a man, so her best friend offered to be a sperm donor. Shortly after Lucy got pregnant, the friend moved to Europe and Lucy lost contact. Later, Lu wants to have a relationship with her other parent, so she uses one of those sites to find their whereabouts. As it turns out, Lucy's best friend has changed a lot - transitioning into Venus, the woman of her dreams.

Uh about the characters. Lucy is a professor of queer and gender studies and has been wearing suits since she was 10. Venus is a performer of many trades, from musical theater to the circus arts, and made a name for herself in Paris before moving back to the states recently. Lu is a daycare teacher and peewee soccer coach, so most of her friends are 5 years old.
