Echo and the Cadet Batch Chapter 22: The Jedi Find Out (Part Two)
Summary:
Fluff, fun, and an unscheduled detour on the part of the cadets…
The arrival of the Wolfpack was just as Rex expected – sudden. They weren’t in the doorway, and then they were.
Plo Koon was the first into the barracks, his signature, respect-inducing air of ancient certainty making even Sparks, Wooley, and Melee straighten up a little and try to look as if they weren’t standing around, waiting on their turn to goof off with their little brothers.
Rex smirked at their behavior and shook his head a little. Being shinies, they hadn’t met the Kel Dor yet and didn’t know that this was a Jedi they had absolutely nothing to worry about. Plo Koon could walk in on the three of them doing handstands while drinking juice through twisty straws, and his only reaction would be to ask if they wanted more juice.
Wolffe slipped into the room behind his general, his decorated helmet tucked beneath his arm and his posture ramrod straight as usual. His light and silent tread was completely compatible with the name he had chosen for himself as a cadet, but as soon as he was inside the door, he sidled up to Plo and stood firmly in place like a stoic bodyguard.
Or, somewhat stoic, until he saw the littles. His eyes widened, and the cybernetic one glowed a fraction of a lumen brighter, reacting to the changes in hormones that correlated to his emotions. A startled curse slipped from his usually more disciplined lips. “Oh, kark.”
