It's the end of day 3, and there have been 1,268 responses (really good), but I would still really love to get more responses from people born in the Southern Hemisphere:

It's been almost 2 days since this brain/birthdays survey opened, and there have been over 1,100 responses. :)

Over 6 times as many respondents are from the Northern Hemisphere as the Southern Hemisphere, so if you're in the Southern Hemisphere and/or have followers who are, please do consider a swift reblob.

People born in February, June and September are underrepresented so far. If you were born in one of these months or you have a friend/family member who was, please do the survey and share the link.

One of the stranger things about training brand new nurses is explaining how to min max small talk. It feels very weird to coach people on how to chat.

if I make and post an insanely detailed powerpoint on the twenty different equations I run mentally during casual conversation to make it flow better, everyone has to say that it's sexy and cool and not weird at all

remember, everyone promised to be cool! also disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer assume I said all the things you'd say to be like "i know human interaction is complicated, i know some of what i listed here would be very annoying to some people," and all that

I love everything about this. I love that these are real practical steps. I love seeing the behind-the-scenes glimpse at the healthcare profession. I love that I'm not the only nerd who has systematically flow-charted human behavior in my head to be less awkward when interacting with people, AND that I'm not the only nerd to post it on Tumblr.com.

It's been about 24 hours and there are now just over 700 responses.

Things really kicked off around 7:30pm when I abused my moderate Tumblr fame and reblogged it to @gendercensus:

Months of birth are overall fairly evenly distributed, with fewer in February (understandable, it's teeny) and more in November:

Respondents born in the Southern Hemisphere are only about 12% at the moment, so if you're in the Southern Hemisphere and you've not taken the survey yet, please do - and then share with some friends, perhaps? :)

I am in the Northern Hemisphere myself, so perhaps it is just taking a while to get all the way down south. 🤔 Thank you to everyone who has shared this with friends, the results are pretty interesting so far and I am looking forward to sharing them.
