CHERRYMOGAI

(PT: Cherrymogai)

Cherrymogai is a blog run by the Cherryfall system! Request status is always in the blog description, and all flags we make are guaranteed to have image descriptions. All of our terms are free to upload to any wiki and/or archive, provided you give credit and keep the definition unchanged.

about carrd here (includes request rules) | ocularic carrd here

[ID: A nine-stripe flag with varying patterns. The outer stripes are pinkish-white scallops with a rose pink outline, followed by three wavy stripes of dusty rose, peach, and pale orange. Finally, the center stripe is a scalloped pastel gold with a pale yellow outline and thin stripe down the center. On the left flag, there's a dusty rose heart with pinkish-white wings in the middle. END ID.]

Transangelic/Transholy

(PT: Transangelic/Transholy)

A transID term in which one identifies as or feels they should be angelic and/or holy. This may be due to feeling close to divinity in some way or in having an angelic personality. What being angelic and/or holy entails is up to the user, as is how they choose to/choose not to transition towards it.

Note: This wasn't coined as a radqueer term, but we don't gatekeep. Anyone can use the flag/interact with this post as long as they're respectful.

Question, if we shouldn't use christian symbols on general religion flags, which symbols should we use for religion in general?

We were talking about this last night in the archivists server actually. We couldn't come to a consensus, but some suggestions were a star or a thought bubble. You can do a symbol that's related to another aspect of the term, or put a more metaphorical, vague symbol like a triangle or circle. You can also simply not include a symbol.

In general, it's best not to put any specific religious symbols on flags that are meant to cover multiple religions. The reason we specifically called out Christianity is because that's the only one we've seen people do it with.

The MOGAI community has a huge and mostly unaddressed problem with cultural Christianity. If you're making a flag for something, even if it isn't related to religion, check what associations the symbol you're thinking of using has. If you are Christian, grew up Christian, or grew up somewhere where Christianity is the majority, chances are there's a lot of things associated with Christianity that you don't know have that association. Doing the research on that goes a long way towards making sure not only that people of all religions are accepted and welcome in the community, but also benefits people with religious trauma.

we prefer using symbols associated with space, like stars or suns. it gets across the feeling of divinity (space is big and unknowable, like something divine would be) without being a symbol of any actual religion.

other christian symbols to look out for:

  • other variations of the cross such as the byzantine cross, the slavonic cross, the maltese cross, the baptismal cross...
  • also please don't use crusader crosses or related symbolism even if it is a christian flag. I should hope i don't need to explain why the crusades were not a good thing
  • NEVER USE THE IRON CROSS i don't have to explain why
  • rosaries. again, I don't know why it needs to be said, but rosaries are not applicable to every religion
  • the sacred heart. this is a heart on fire with thorns around it, usually with a cross or something on top
  • the immaculate heart of mary, another on fire heart with swords surrounding or piercing it
  • crowns of thorns in general
  • certain depictions of halos (such as cruciform halos) are inherently christian. halos do appear frequently in other religions, but some originate with christianity, so you should do your research
  • the luther rose: a white flower with a red heart inside. usually identified as christian by a cross over the heart, but using it without the cross is still dicey
  • lambs and shepherds, in certain depictions
  • doves
  • chalices, specifically if they have a cross or X of some kind on them
  • the jesus fish (ichthys). this one is self explanatory I think
  • check any interlocking triangles or three symbols in one, they could represent the trinity
  • the alpha and omega symbols in christian contexts represent jesus. obviously fine in most contexts, but be aware of that when making religion themed flags. if the two are intertwined, it's probably christian
  • the chi-rho, a P with an x through it, as well as other christograms
  • palm leaves (palm sunday)
  • trefoils and quatrefoils (commonly found on cathedrals, symbolizes the trinity and the four evangelists respectively)
  • the fleur-de-lis, specifically in a religious setting, represents lillies and thus christian purity and immaculate conception

this list is nonexhaustive! and I recommend you look into any symbols you use on flags for yourself, just as a general rule of thumb

Please remember that MOGAI archives are not an archive of terms the archiver, on a personal level, agrees with 100%. Archiving is important to do regardless of if the term is something you think is good or worded in the right way You would not go into a library and get mad at the librarian for a book you think is bad or was written by a guy you don't like.

Archivers are the backbone of this community where entire identities can easily become lost media. Your like of an individual archived term doesn't indicate the moral character of the archiver, a person who is impartial in this. Don't disrespect them for doing their job.

Grolfearlline

[pt: Grolfearlline]

Grolfearlline - A gender under the Spiralline and Groloric umbrellas related to emptiness, disconnection, hollow shells, breaking away, breaking down, not knowing who or what you are, being unable to tell past from present, self hatred, fearing yourself, fear being one of the only emotions you have left.

Day 7 (Dec 16th): A term your blorbo would coin themself | @mousesquared Tagging: @thecoffeecrew404 @radiomogai @horrormogai @cherrymogai

Think you know what character inspired this term? Feel free to send me your guesses! Any time from now until ~5 days after the end of the event (Dec 24th 2024) ^^

[ID: A seven striped flag. The top three stripes are spiky, the bottom three are bumpy, and the center stripe is intersected by red cage-like bars. The stripes are maroon, dark red, red, bluish-black, coral, tangerine, and pale yellow. On the left flag, a circle in the center surrounds a golden symbol; a domed birdcage with folded wings in the shape of a heart. END ID.]

Canaric

(PT: Canaric)

A gender umbrella related to the metaphor of a canary in a coal mine. It feels trapped, like a bad omen meant to warn others of danger but never survive itself. It sings songs to soothe the hearts of the ones it holds dear, even when engulfed in the darkness. Maybe the canary is afraid of its fate, maybe it wants to escape the mine and be free. Or maybe it finds purpose in being the first to go when danger arrives, priding itself on saving people over and over again.

You're always the canary, never the miner. You're not the one who's going to make it out of this alive.

Other themes under this umbrella include:

  • Martyrdom
  • Fate, especially tragic fates
  • Impending doom
  • Entropy, the sense everything will inevitably fall apart
  • Being trapped, metaphorically or literally
  • Loss of freedom and autonomy
  • Sacrificial devotion that both keeps you going and destroys you
  • Being doomed by the narrative in some way
  • Time loops, cycles of violence, and other hopeless situations
  • Pushing through those situations, even when you know what will happen

CANARIN: Canaric-in-nature Canarine: Equivalent to masculine/feminine Canary: Equivalent to man/woman Nestling: Equivalent to boy/girl Canarynes: Term for genders under this umbrella

EponaSatelladeo

A gender/alterhuman identity under the Satelladeo/Satelladevotee umbrellas that has a strong connection to the Celtic Goddess Epona, horses, mules, ponies, donkeys, forests and nature.

This identity is mainly for people who are fragments/aspects/satellites of Epona.

(Coined by me)

(Satelladeo and Satelladevotee were coined by @cherrymogai )

tidaline flag (normal and simplified symbol) and symbols (under cut)!

🌊 an alterhuman identity caused or influenced by bipolar, schizoaffective or cyclothymic disorder; any symptom or mood state can cause or influence a tidaline identity as long as you consider it directly related to bipolar, shchizoaffective or cyclothymia 🌊 from "tidal" (related to or affected by the tide) and "-ine" (suffix meaning like, of or pertaining to, of the nature of, etc.); coined after the fluid and cyclical nature of the tides and the way water has both positive and negative symbolism depending on context 🌊 tidaline identities can be called tidetypes

Really sorry if this is a dumb question, do you still do Satelladeo flags/coining??? I saw some Satelladeo flags made on this account but when I went on the request rules I saw you didn't do them which got me confused, sorry to bother

we probably forgot to add them to the req page when we coined it, whoops! but yes, we're always open to make more!

flag resources/stripes part 2: shit i've found

[pt: flag resources/stripes part 2: shit i've found /end pt]

these were made by others that i have found around on and off website. i don't have the sources for all of these unfortunately as a lot of them have been lost but if you know lmk so i can credit them

Hi, i've recently coined a new gender and I was wondering if you would be able to create a flag for it. It's name is Bivogendroma and is a gender in which one's gender is feels primarily bigender, sometimes gendervoid, and occasionally paragender.

Here is the llnk to the fandom page incase you want more detail. gender.fandom.com/wiki/Bivogendroma

posted! i hope you enjoy the flag, it was fun trying to mix the colors of the existing flags together into a cohesive design!
