- root of Chaol is seemingly "chaos." This man is the opposite of chaos and it does not suit him, though it is an excellent fantasy name
- if it's pronounced more like "coal" then the metaphor of him and their relationship being part of what fuels Celaena's fire hits 10x harder
- I read it as "Choal" for 7 books before I heard otherwise and therefore I cannot be bothered to change
