For years I was certain I couldn't get a tattoo "until I lose weight" because it would look bad. Finally let myself do it and damn it's amazing.
I wanted to shave the sides of my head but I never did because I'm fat with a round face. Then I finally did it and I love it.
the world doesnt make men feel beautiful and make women feel ugly. it makes women feel they literally exist for men’s use. that is why redefining beauty is idiotic. why are we trying to expand the parameters in which you can exist in to be deemed fuckable by men when the problem is this tyrannical idea in the first place
what’s bonkers is this stupid cultural schema doesn’t even make men feel beautiful either. it tells them that beauty is something they have to strive to possess. they’re either strong enough to earn a beautiful woman, or they’re worthless. women are made to be used by men but men aren’t even men if they can’t get a woman to use. complimentarianism, the idea that two sexes are made to interlock as opposites and complete each other, join men and women’s entire self-worth together in this miserable act of subjugation, while making sure anyone who can’t manage it (or won’t cooperate with it) is dismissed as worthless; desexed; unpersoned.
i think this might be part of why gay men scare the shit out of some guys: there is a beauty in men that belongs to them intrinsically, and there is a way men can love each other for it that has nothing to do with the domination of women. what a frightening thing to glimpse, through a sudden crack in your strangling narrow worldview.
when you go to bed significantly earlier than usual, a little menu should pop up asking if you want Wake Up Early or More Sleep. and then you should get what you requested. that's my human body UI improvement for the day.

We don’t need more diverse Disney movies, we need Disney to be shut down and broken up so that it stops dominating entertainment and choking out smaller creators and studios.

The best things Disney has made, the things people enjoyed and loved, that make them so nostalgic and protective of disney? Those things…weren’t made by Disney. Disney doesn’t MAKE things, it hires people to make things. Those directors and writers and actors and musicians could still make those magnificent films. There is no reason on earth that they need Disney involved, except that Disney monopolizes the filmmaking industry.
If we got rid of Disney, not only would we STILL have EVERYTHING they’d made, but it would be free for people to reuse, alter, and publish in new ways. The people who had created it, if they were still alive, would be free to publish anything else they’ve made that was related, which until now they’ve been required to keep under wraps lest it be out of step with corporate marketing.
Ending copyright protection in a world where corporations own everything perversely gives content creators MORE control over their content.
Imagine all the amazing scripts Disney has bought and ultimately shelved, never to see the light of day, because of image or timing or whatever else. Think of how many projects they have intentionally smothered because they didn’t want to do it but they didn’t want anyone else to do it either
