The sh!t I go through for a paycheck...

Anyone who claims to be good at cleaning is either lying or incriminating themselves because no one is good at cleaning until they've gotten away with hiding a body.

What happens if a night na'vi outlives their ikran? Since they can live 120+ years and I don't think ikrans could have a lifespan that long

Do they ride with other family members like kids too young to tame one?

It’s rare for Night Na’vi to outlive their ikrans since the ikrans have slightly longer natural lifespans (about a decade or so).

But in the event that it does happen, if it is an older Navi like an elder, they’ll usually just fly with someone else. If they are still able bodied, they may choose another, but most people take a long time to do that since losing your ikran in the Alyara is like loosing a sibling. Riders and their mounts are meant to be lifelong companions in their family that is the night ikran colony.

Spoilers for Avatar 3 ahead‼️

.

So, I took time to actually hear what James Cameron had to say at the D23 panel in Brazil couple days ago, and he greatly expanded on the ash people and their motivations.

First of all, we have an official clan name for the ash people now, and it’s “Mangkwan”. Secondly, if you’ve seen the newly released concept art and wondered as to why their environment looks so bleak, it’s because an unknown amount of time ago, the culture, heritage and lives of the clan were greatly scarred by volcanic eruptions.

That trauma has permanently changed the Mangkwan and led them into a dark place of grief, upset, pain, and anger; anger at the world and at the great mother. They are a deeply traumatised people.

Wind-traders are an opposite to them, in a way. They don’t stay in one place for long and travel along trading routes all around Pandora, as caravans! It’s a uniquely lighter vibe.

Phew finally!

Sorry for the lack of activity, I started another semester recently and it has been taking most of my time (as it rightfully should)

but anyways, November is the month where people celebrate thanksgiving and I wanted to do a little something to conmemorate it :)

It all started with a few chibis for my closest friends but the more I remember who was supporting me through this whole year it all became...

After having such a shit ass year, dealing with trash that was not deserving of my attention, I couldn't be more blessed with the amazing circle of people that sorround me now, I had a whole village backing me up and I didn't even realize.

Despite of its flaws, this fandom has give me the chance to meet them all and I hope to keep making friends, adding more chibis in the future!

Now, to these incredible peeps (That you sould def check their stuff):

@colbunnii (Rhae)

@lizlecter (Missy)

@choclodox (Nikea)

@exxorcius (Matias)

@codang (Spence)

@nessa-harp (Siwaya)

@/cookiehuskk on instagram (Aïiya)

@/mmmmmeeerraaaakiii on instagram (Ue'mäne)

I love you guys! 🫶

I may deserve a chibi, but I don’t deserve @nin3kyuu 😭

THANK YOU AND LOVE YOU BEBESITA 💋💋💋

How did alyara clan burials work before and how did they change over the years?

Avatar

Alyara burials…oof that’s a tricky one. This is a bit of a deep lore question. Before the Night Na’vi were able to the leave homelands, there was a time when they…couldn’t bury their dead. I won’t get into it here because it goes in depth with their story I’ve been writing on Ao3 (Change is Who We Are).

Nowadays, when someone dies, they bring them back to the Pulse to be buried there. If they die a long ways away from there, they are temporarily embalmed and usually the deceased’s ikran will carry them back. Xenicas are very social with each other, and when they bond, they see their riders as part of the colony’s hierarchy and not just a companion. Most have to be sedated with an incense smoke before anyone can get near the body to embalm them. Desert Na’vi always help with these preparations since they also had a big impact with teaching the Night Na’vi about proper burials (another deep lore question).

The thing about the Pulse is that they’re aren’t connected to the Neural Network, and hence, are not connected to Eywa. The idea is that one day the forest will restore itself and when that happens, the Pulse will reconnect with the land and all those who are resting peacefully will be able to connect with the rest of the world in the afterlife (another deep lore question).

Hope this helps

What kind of clothing do night Na'vi wear depending on age....I wanted to draw a few characters because I like you're blog and I kinda wanted to give you art based on it because....I really like your fan clan okay!!!!! ..and I'm a nervous wreck😂😂😂😂😂

Avatar

Little infants are swaddled in night silk (that rare fiber that the night Na’vi cloaks are made of). When they’re toddlers and younger children, their cloaks only go to their ankles to keep them from tripping over the gems. When they get older, their cloaks go to their feet. Also, their ionars get more immaculate and detailed the older they get.

Note: women wear more feathers on their clothes while men wear furs (given to them by friends on their travels) to stay warm

I just saw your post where you drew nikea in a realistic style and she's so pretty!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaa I love her design, personality and her Imran Oi boi this is the best content I've hunted in the whole week!!!!

I've been searching for stuff like this for a while and now that I've stumbled upon your blog it feels like I found liter GOLD!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Omg I’m so thankful you like my stuff. I’m still writing the fic for it btw in case you didn’t know 👉👈 (Change is Who We Are on Ao3)

Ooooooooo I love the lore behind your oc nikea 💙💙💜💜

Also why does it say nikea was exiled from the night Navi clan????

Avatar

Omg I’m so sorry I took so long to respond 😭

Nikea was exiled because she had a disagreement with her mother. The night na’vi had declared that they weren’t gonna help the Omatikaya, ruling that getting involved would count as meddling in a clans political affairs that weren’t their own (that and they were understandably sour about what happened with the school). Nikea thought it was wrong and thought they owed that much to their sister clan. To Neytiri. Despite the strict order, Nikea left the Alyara to help the Omatikaya in the Battle of the Tree of Souls.

Getting involved another clan’s political affairs is against Night Na’vi policy as they consider themselves a 100% party. The Alyara considering doing the same as putting another clan before your own, essentially treason and one of the highest offenses in the clan. In leaving, Nikea was never allowed to return, and is now considered dead to the Alyara (which is also why she had to give up her songcord. :(

Anonymous asked:

So night navi are not allowed to kill, but what if they did so by accident? Like in self defense situation or unintentionally led a companion to their death?

Also what would happen if a night ikran was killed on their eyes 👀

Ngl, things get REALLY tricky in situations like this. It would be viewed as manslaughter. Yes, it was an accident, but accidents are preventable (like I’ve had it written in the past, they’re a STRICT clan).

But of course, the severity can depend on the nature of the person/animal’s death, how preventable it was, and also who this person was. If it were a child well…say goodbye to having children of your own. And that of your descendants if you’re already a parent. Because what right does someone have to continue their bloodline through their children if they’re willing to kill other’s children?

And if someone killed a night ikran…the night na’vi would drag said aggressor back to the Homelands, strip that person naked, and leave them to fend for themselves (for those who don’t know, the Night Na’vi’s homelands is an Eywa forsaken place that makes the forest look like child’s play).
