Illustrations, Sculptures, & Doodles | They/She Support my work with commissions or my store at clockways.com~

So in Sunshine and Madness your ffxv fic, you have a scene where the Glaives learn that giving the magic is slowly killing Regis. So was it they were not told, or was it that someone told them something that would be obvious to anyone who's family worked that the citadel for 3 generations or more and new people didn't understand the jargon/implications? Or was it sabotage so that they would feel even more resentful of the king?

Oh, lots of sabotage for sure! But using the fact that the Glaves aren't the Crownsguard. They are not old family lines from Insomnia who have been around long enough to see a know and understand. But the end goal was 100% to make them feel more resentful to the King.

I don't think my hands are up to sculpting or casting resin yet, but I might be able to open my store up for the resin work I do have (if sanding goes alright), wooden pins, and stickers.

And maybe a few commissions? Some chibis for sure. Maybe sketches. Would anyone want NSFW sketch options too?

Anonymous asked:

How do you come up with art you add when posting links to ao3? What do you consider when making it? It's really pretty (and I kinda want to try doing it myself)

Oh! Hum. Some of this answer is being a weird artist gremlin and having years of critiquing work. But that's not too helpful.

So, Like Betta Fish Do and a few others were chibis. I basically picked a scene from the chapter and drew a little snapshot of it. It was a fun way to do art for the fic but quickly.

Shadow of a Bat was mimicking the Animated Series. And the others... Well I try to either pick something symbolic from the title like in Cut Flowers and City Pigeons, or something interesting from the story. Tim Jr is sorta both. I also went with a specific retro style for that one. Offering on a Chance specifically I wanted something quick and accenting the red of lips and blood was really fitting. Masked is obviously very graphic and playing with the color change of the text for a reveal and hide sort of effect.

I'm not a huge text person, so you'll see the same font used a few times lol. I try to pick one with good vibes that has a little bit of interest itself. I like text that isn't white or black for interest.

Honestly, a lot of times it's just trying to do something quick and eye catching! It's a fun way to exercise that artistic limb too with different styles and things. Like Assembly Required is based on IKEA assembly manuals and keeping things simple. It was fun, even if it's not a style I'll go back to!

Trying to add a few more humans to my art fight character list~ He needs a name still (and some more art), but have a trans, disabled magical brawler.

(You'll never guess my art fight user name.)

He's named Conley now~ works with a bunch of occult detectives.

Have such a migraine so doodling around on a Danny that's more towards ghost than human these days- and is in a bit of a bad way. He may have chopped his hair off with tin snips. Danny no.

Playing around with a rough and ugly pen to try and loosen up. I like it, but wish the changes were tied more to pressure. If anyone has a good half dried effect pen for CSP to recommend let me know!

Not me just realizing I spelled it steppe not steppy.

It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!

this is actually really helpful and affirming thanks

Drew up a version so that I could make it my phone screen~
