weird thing about the bra size issue in the USA--the bra size issue is that most women in the USA are 100% wearing the wrong bra size, this is due to a lot of complicated factors involving how consumer capitalism intersects with patriarchy--

it does not help that the actual product photos for bras show models in the wrong size half the time. see how the top edge is digging into her tit? and the gore (the middle where the two wires meet) is floating off her sternum? that is not supposed to happen. wrong size or cup shape for this model

here's the advanced algebra required to convert asian sizes:

28" (my band measurement) = 71.2cm, but im not supposed to order my band size in cm, im supposed to order a 34 band size, even though a 34 band size would be equivalent to 86.36cm, not 75 as it is shown in the text quote from the listing. plus im supposed to add sizes for "asian size" difference. so i have to assume vanity sizing has just gotten really crazy in the asian market and thats why most asian bras that ive seen are extremely padded anyway, to obliterate the actual breast shape and cover it all with foam. there are probably more fitted bras available but they just arent being exported, which is a shame because that size range would be useful to people with smaller rib cages in other regions

usa had a whole thing about "underbust plus four is your bra size" that confused several generations of americans and im not sure exactly when the new system kicked in but you will rarely find a Boomer lady who doesnt hate her bra because shes been buying the same size since she was 14 and every single one of them has been wrong

It also does NOT tell you to add inches to your underbust to get your band size. That is completely wrong.

(And every other website out there flat-out lies to you about this. I don’t even know why. But they have all been lying to us since at least the 1960s. It’s no wonder everyone thinks bras are so uncomfortable. All of the “standard” or “official” sizing instructions are flat-out, simply, wrong.)

Do not panic if you get a cup letter that sounds “big” (usually combined with a band size that sounds “small). Just try it on.

You’ll feel super skeptical at first. I did, too. Like “no way. I can’t be a [DD or whatever]. It’s impossible. The calculator must be broken.” But I promise. Just try it.

Also, you’re gonna want to shop UK brands and UK sizes. They actually make and sell a decent range of sizes, unlike US brands. Try BraStop.com.

This post is a pretty good guide. I also recommend Bratabase for seeing how different bras fit different sizes. BTW, almost every bra model really is in the wrong size. Once you start to see it you can't unsee it. This is a problem if, like me, you are constantly on the lookout for Actually Good Bras and Instagram feeds you ads for every specialty bra company that claims to have fixed or reinvented the bra. Yeah that ain't gonna help because your model is still! wearing! the! wrong! size! I like Understance in part because they actually size all their models correctly. Bra Fittings by Court also posts a lot of helpful before and afters.

I know for a fact that there is a challenge to travel between the two closest adjacent stations in Tokyo by going the long way round (like 200+ stations) and you can only attempt it once per year on new years and since they operate nonstop that day and you need all 48-ish hours to do that. It costs like 130 yen to do that.

Well you see, some stations serve ramen/undon/soba at the platforms. There's also NewDays Kiosk convenience stores too on the platforms if that isn't an option. You could probably get off, buy something, and get back on the same train if you really wanted to.
