Creative Practises of one Scarleystars

@cottonkhaleesi / cottonkhaleesi.tumblr.com

The home of CottonKhaleesi and Scarleystars art. Mostly a range of knitting, crochet, soap making, seaglass pendants and fibre art appreciation.

i keep forgetting that knitting is generally seen as a gendered activity because that just seems incoherent to me. like, ah yes, the inherent femininity of wrapping string around a stick. everybody wants a piece of string and a stick to wind a string around!

Untitled.

I'm not sure what to call this one. So much has happened in the last week, distilling it down into a few words is hard.

Anyway, this is the final round beaded object for a bit. I've started work on some other ideas I have.

May I humbly suggest “Glazing the Burnt Biscuit” as a title? Or “Curtain to the Void” ?

Anyways as usual your art is amazing, can’t wait to see to see what direction you take next!

Done! This was a process knit (because I am not going to win at yarn chicken if I attempt another, plus the gauge was super off but I wanted to use up these yarns anyway). It’s soft and stretchy. Not sure how I feel about the Russian grafting, and if I do this pattern again I would halve the leg portion, also all mistakes are very obvious and thus not forgiving, but I am satisfied nonetheless!

Now to do some swatches to actually find the gauge….
