so funny that humans imagined a creature that is like a human but bigger and called it a “giant”. that’s such an uncreative name. that’s just an adjective. “it’s a giant!” “a giant what?!” “a giant… um. yeah. giant.”

oh my god,,,, the word was originally used for the creature and not as an adjective,,,,, that’s even funnier *guy seeing something huge* wow! that’s roughly the size of one of those big creatures wouldn’t you say?

My friend works two jobs and doesn’t tend to specify which one he’s talking about, so he’ll say stuff like “a lady died at work today” and the rest of us have to play a fun little game called Nursing Home Or Yankee Candle.

Today he goes “someone threw a candle at me at work >:(” and I think I can finally reliably pin down one of his anecdotes but nope! It was the wretched nursing home!!!!!

Janus Basileia, crown prince of Illéa, has come of age to take the throne. But he can't do that without someone to rule beside him, so he must host this generation's Selection.

He is to pick 35 of his citizens to compete for his hand. It's supposed to be a celebration, a fun challenge. Janus is not so enthused about the game, though at least some of the chosen have potential to be interesting...

Janus doesn't expect to truly fall in love, Virgil never thought she'd be here in the first place, and Roman just wants to save their brother.

Maybe all three of them are in for a surprise.

you REIN IN your horse when you pull on the rein to tell him to slow down.

similarly, you GIVE HIM FREE REIN when you loosen your grip on the reins and let him run as fast as he likes.

that's where the metaphor comes from. you can rein in your evil vizier when he proposes a little too much child murder, or you can give him free rein when you need your enemies obliterated and only underhanded treachery will do. but unless he actually pulls off that nefarious coup he's plotting, the only one reigning here is you.

oh thank god for the ui update i was jsut thinking that WAY too much space in the ui is devoted to the conent of the posts (the thing i come to the website for) im so glad that those upstart Posts are finally getting overshadowed by their rightful overlords, the real stars of the show, icons and urls,

every time i see this post reblogged the combination of reblogger + my icon / url bar is nearly as big as the post itself. im going crazy. most tumblr ui changes are whatever this is absolutely insane
