"endless influx of information prohibits freedom of imagination,
and seeks conformity of thought.
all these painful noises blind you,
and now it even infringes on freedom of thought."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIN YOONGI! (march 9, 1993)
— “i’m comfortable now and feeling good, but those sorts of negative emotions come and go. so it’s almost like cold weather. it may come back in a cycle over a year, year and a half. but when i hear people say that when they listen to my music, and feel comfort and are consoled by those lyrics that express these emotions, that makes me feel very good. it’s very encouraging. i think, for anybody, these emotions are not something that need to be hidden. they need to be discussed and expressed. whatever emotions that i may be feeling, i’m always ready to express them now, as i was before.”

“I say this over and over again, but art ultimately comes from life. I believe I can create something awesome only by continuing to put living and playing at the forefront. I don’t want to pursue music for music’s sake, art for art’s sake, etc. Life always comes first, and that creates the balance needed to work fruitfully. I always think of myself as standing on a balance beam, and try to enjoy it as much as I can. Creating is like punishment. But I try to endure it with pleasure, counting myself lucky to have a creative job.”
love that for you!!!!!! yay for successful career changes! yay for the world not ending! yay for finding a place to thrive!!
thank you so much!!! as someone who hates change it's been really scary in a lot of ways but i can feel that i've grown and learned a lot the last few months :) change can be good if you are brave!!!!
did leaving your previous career and starting a new one in a different field require more education?
it didn't! i got employed through the state by going through a temp agency, and i'm now in the process of being interviewed to hopefully transition to full time. :) my interview for that is in a week.
i don't know how it is in other states, but here a lot of government positions are actually filled by temp workers because they only budget for so many full time positions to open a year, and when you apply for "full time" (to clarify, i work full time hours that's just how we differentiate between how we are employed) they do like to see education but the degree doesn't really matter. and they'll substitute education for experience in the job!
if i get converted to full time, functionally much won't change except i'll get benefits and my pay will go up a bit. as a temp, i get paid holidays and the option to get insurance through my agency but it's not as good as government stuff obviously.
also, to doubly clarify i currently work a public facing office job :)
