there is no audience to perform for, there is no approval, no admiration to attain. there is no role worth playing, there is no one to convince. let it go

It's called hard sci-fi because it's not as easy

I thought it'd be fun if I made aliens that respirate COยฒ into Oยฒ like plants but I started thinking about how I'm not actually sure how exactly those chemical processes work and now I'm on the wikipedia page for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate

I feel like the media literacy ogre for biochemistry

Wait you are all goated for not expressing pity etc tbh....... ๐ŸŒน

I think I'd be genuinely smarter if I cared less about being smart

jhst realized I'm smarter and better than everyone in a very specific way that makes life difficult for me because no one accounted for my unique strain of genius when building society and social norms

Some people acquire knowledge like signet rings pressing into wax

Some people don't

I know this metaphor features mainly in Locke & Aristotle but I have initially encountered this in an argument against passive learning (for which the signet-ring-to-wax is the metaphor) and I do fully believe incidental learning accounts for perhaps 5% of your knowledge base and everything else you need to extract from the jaws of a lion
