bzzzt! i specifically added the clarification that you have to be within city limits because i knew someone would use the fact that la county is HUGE to try to live in the sgv or somthing.

the weirdly shaped blue blob is the city of los angeles, the entire non greyed out area is the county (TIL it includes catalina and san clemente?) this would STILL beat out nyc in area even including all boroghs, so i felt it was a fair restriction to make.

the more fool me for even reading nyt political opinion pieces. but it's crazy that apparently centrist democrats saw trump's poll numbers rise after the "kamala is for they/them. donald trump is for you." ads and are now like "wow, guess The Base hates trans people and we should throw them under the bus!" instead of acknowledging that the ad is a particularly well-crafted (evil) piece of copywriting lol

#like it's a brilliant line. in the sense that i hope whoever wrote it dies and goes to hell no matter what#wild to pretend that trans people have always been some big inflammatory issue in red states. motherfucker i lived in indiana for 18 years#in 2015 some people were shitty re the caitlin jenner magazine cover but i would not say it occupied anyone's mind for more than .2 seconds#preaching to the choir here obviously. but jesus christ
