hit with a memory of burying a time capsule in a friend's backyard in 5th grade; 2009. i don't remember what we put inside of it aside from my inclusion of a picture of dedede. she wrote, "(deadname), are you still obsessed with king dedede?" on the stone marking its place.
we went to different schools the next year and never reconnected. i didn't get to see the capsule dug up.

even when i'm quiet about him and escargon, they're always on my mind... my friends were surprised to become familiar with the reason i named our minecraft server "DDDxESC" in june last year, 6 months before i made this blog.
a couple months before that, i made this gif to send when closing out voice calls:
from 2008 to 2025, there are a maximum of 4 years in which i don't have any art that i made of either of them -- importantly, this doesn't mean i won't dig more up at some point. just the other week, i found an abandoned WIP of them hidden amongst old files, unseen since 2018! who knows where else they might be hiding, waiting to fill out the roster... and who knows which pieces, if any, will remain lost forever.
in november this year, i will have spent 17 years with them. 63% of my life, and that number can only go up...

i've got two kirby usernames depending on the social media: dddesc and dededegesu. i want to make a bsky kirby account, but i don't know which username i like more...
dddesc = short, satisfying to say out loud (D-D-D-E-S-C), slightly interpretive but easy to get the gist of what i'm about once you see what i post, matches my #ddd and #esc tagging system.
dededegesu = cute, "dedede" + "degesu" (CUTE), makes it clearer that i prefer the japanese over the dub, slightly more memorable because it looks more like words?
