animation being treated like a genre instead of a medium is something that actually makes me go insane. beauty and the beast is a romance. the emperor's new groove is a buddy comedy. big hero 6 is a superhero movie. moana is an adventure film. the lion king is a drama. treasure planet is sci-fi. if i was talking to someone who hadn't seen these movies before, and they weren't specifically interested in animation as a medium, then i wouldn't necessarily assume they'd enjoy all of these. and that's just disney movies! try telling an anime fan that fruits basket and fullmetal alchemist are the same genre and see how they react!

i come from the universe where everything is the same except disney heroines get like an ounce of their fathers' obviously dominant genes and their clothes are like 80% more historically accurate. it's beautiful here.

Due to outrageously high processing fees, the family seven-year-old Omar still has not raised enough funds to do Omar’s complete skin graft. A partial graft has been done, but they still need funds to cover the rest of Omar’s wounds. Their father also remains in critical condition and in danger of permanent paralysis.

**Now, they are trapped by IOF attack. They need to arrange transportation out of the area NOW to avoid being trapped by IOF death squads! They cannot move by foot due to their injuries, they NEED transportation out of the area NOW!!!**

They need to raise €300 EUR to cover the cost of transportation. Of this amount, they have raised €180 so far. That means they still need €120 EUR to evacuate.

Current: €6,608 EUR

New temporary goal: €6,728 EUR

Need to raise: €120 EUR (about $131 USD)

Yahya, his brother Khalil, their little brother Omar, and the rest of their family’s extremely difficult situation is described at length in this thread. Thank you to our dear ally @murderbot for keep in close contact with the family and providing invaluable updates.

Not to spoil much of my comic but dude—it’s so hard to write a disabled protagonist without the fear of infantilization or mischaracterization. (particularly within fandom) To see him struggle in a period (late 1980s-early 90s) where just because certain laws were in place didn't mean that such people struggled. Also, on a more “NSFW” note (I guess) writing about him having both sexual and romantic relationships with other people without making him bland or uninteresting.

There are moments when he needs his cane, or wheelchair, or days when he can't even get up at all. His boyfriend is the one who takes care of him; while also dealing with his mental health. He feels a great deal of guilt for his own existence. (Don't worry, he's not inspiration porn.)

I also think it's particularly interesting since the comic focuses primarily on his gender and sexuality and gender identity (genderfluid; gay/mlm) rather than his disability. He struggles with his own personal demons (both in a mental and literal sense, btw.)

It’s the deep exploration of abuse, gender, sexuality, and disability through the lens of psychological horror. The idea that you could still be messed with even when you are at your lowest. His relationship with the antagonist is as complex as with his lover and those around him. He is a literal college student who makes an income from freelance photography.

Adding on:

I also don't want him to be overtly sexualized but not infantilized either. Sure, he's not some macho bad-boy heartthrob (as he is still genderfluid in a period where a phrase like that didn't exist until 1994??!! (though, if that is incorrect, please correct me.) In a time where he grew up hearing shit like “men need to be strong!” and “boys don't cry!” Even though he was bullied as a kid for his disability and “feminine” interests. Where he tries to hide away who is even though he knows that it’s a lie!? He knows that he is a man, and masculine..but that’s not right either. It never really has been. There’s something different about him; even his ex-boyfriend clocked it before he ever could find the words.

Wait!! Don't skip, please💔

Save my family of two children and my wife from the war. The children have no food or shelter.

To everyone reading my words,🙏 🥺

I am Khalid Al-Khatib from Gaza, Palestine. My family of four was displaced after our lives turned into a nightmare of destruction and bombing. We were forced to leave our home in search of safety, losing nearly everything in the process.🙏 🥺

🚨 We Need Your Kindness to Survive 🚨

Hello, My name is Mosab Elderawi, and I live in Gaza with my family. Life here has become harder than I ever imagined, and I’m writing this with hope in my heart that you might hear our story.

The ongoing war has devastated my family. We’ve lost 25 family members—each one a beloved part of our lives, taken too soon. I miss them deeply—their laughter, their presence, their love. Every day is a reminder of this unimaginable loss.

We are now facing daily challenges to survive—things that most people take for granted, like food, clean water, and a safe place to sleep. The harsh realities of life here have replaced our dreams with the constant fight for survival.

Our Current Situation:

💔 Lost Stability: The war has left us without work or a stable source of income. 🍞 Basic Needs: Food and water are becoming harder to afford with rising prices and scarce resources. 📚 Dreams on Hold: Like so many here, my family’s dreams have been replaced by the need to simply survive. 😢 Unimaginable Loss: Losing 25 loved ones has left a void that can never be filled.

How You Can Help:

I’m sharing our story with the hope that someone out there might care. Even $5 can make a big difference for us, and if you’re unable to donate, just reblogging this post can help spread the word.

Your kindness, no matter how small, is something we’ll never forget.

What This Means to Us:

Your support is not about changing our entire situation—it’s about giving us a little relief, a little hope, and a way to keep going. We are not asking for much, and we understand if you can’t donate. Sharing our story is just as valuable to us as a donation.

Thank you for reading this far. It means the world to us to know that someone is listening. Your kindness gives us strength and helps us believe in a better tomorrow.

With all our gratitude, Mosab Elderawi and Family ❤️

Dipper and Mabel's Guide To Mystery and Non-Stop Fun: Secret Codes

(Sorry this took so long, BTW.) Here are the codes I have found in Dipper and Mabel’s Guide To Mystery and Non-Stop Fun. The first group of codes will be Bill’s. Then I’ll move on to Dipper’s codes. All of the codes will be bold.(The page numbers will be in parenthesis.)

Here they are:

Dipper wrote a theme song for himself and sings it in the shower.” (20-21)

After nightmares, Mabel meows herself back to sleep.”(30-31)

Soos keeps candy in his belly button for emergencies.”(52-53)

Stan was a baby model.” (69)

The mayor of Gravity Falls is not long for this world.” (76-77)

Wendy wishes she lived in Portland.” (80-81)

The end of the world is closer than the end of the Summer.”(88-89)

Something strange is buried under Gravity Falls.” (92-93)

Time Baby is worried about Bill.” (94-95) (I talked a bit more about this one here.)

Bud Gleeful wants to run for mayor.”(96-97)

McGucket has seen terrible things.”(106-107)

Grenda will marry Rich.”(108-109)

That burnt tree by Soos’s house is odd.” (116-117)

Soos writes fan fics about Stan.”(118-119)

The Gnomes have a clear view of Northwest Manor.”(124-125)

Dipper and Mabel’s father worked in computers.” (132-133)

Robbie secretly draws anime.” (142-143)

The invisible wizard keeps untying Dipper’s shoes.” (144-145)

The government can be forgetful.” (148)

Growing up is optional.” (150)

Now for Dipper’s codes:

Trust no one.” (123)

Robbie is a jerk.” (123)

This is way more fun than going outside.” Writing codes, he means. (124)

To get back at Mabel,Candy, and Grenda for their tickle attack, I’m going to put peanut butter in their socks!“ (131)

The next one is on Dipper’s Certificate of Mystery (151):

It’s missing it in this photo, but there’s a code surrounding it:

As you can hardly see, there some black letters mixed in with the blue ones. Those make up this: “DISNEYXD.COM/ARENTYOUCLEVER” which shows this:

[That code says,”You’re not as dumb as you seem…I’ve got some secrets if you know where to look. The people of this town are an open book…”]

The blue-lettered code on the certificate says: “By signing this official document, you are hereby agreeing to dedicate your life, your afterlife, and any potential clone-lives to the discovery, uncovery (Is that a word?), and exploration of the paranormal, the alter-average, and the extra-usual. When friends ask you to stop being paranoid, you will scoff. When they say that you’ve been acting really weird since you read that book and they don’t even recognize you anymore, that means they’re jealous/you are like me now. We are part of a higher calling. We will meet one day and on that glorious day we will show the small-minded doubters we were right all along, and are also really cool, and they should have been nicer to us. Okay that’s about it. This sort of sounds like a supervillain manifesto in retrospect. But you get the gist.

Bonus! Gideon code in his letter to Mabel (Page 87):

The letters on the side read, “Help me escape or be destroyed.”

That’s about it. Remember, REALITYISANILLUSIONTHEUNIVERSEISAHOLOGRAMBUYGOLDBYYYYYE!

Just bought this book so saving this for later!

crawling back to this tumblr account after the tiktok ban feels like driving back to my old home in the countryside,, gently wiping away the cobwebs and the dust that's settled in my absence,, nothing changed, nothing out of place,, a memory of a forgotten era; frozen in time,,

If an individual trans man did transition as a trauma response to misogyny, or a trans woman did identify as such because it's tied to her kinks, both of them would still be valid. Every reason for being trans is valid. When transphobes bring out those canards, we act like those are hideous things to be when we should be treating them like reductive stereotypes that are one of ten million different reasons someone might identify the way they do. Neither inherently undermines other trans people.

When you say "how dare you accuse me of being a disgusting faker like that" you're playing by transphobic society's rules. Do not believe that you can convince them your masculinity is truly destiny built into you from birth, or that your femininity is squeaky clean.

Beautiful tags, and it touches on what I've said before about how our goal is NOT to convince people that trans women are "really" women or trans men are "really" men, but that only the individual has a right to define one's own identity, and can do with their body as they wish.

Hell yeah! Transness is no one way street and it ain't clear as a blue sky.

Your transness is whatever you want it to be with no care or concern towards others because they don't hold your soul. You do.

If it sounds like the composer is trying to blast you with the orchestra until you're as deaf as he is, it's Beethoven.

If it sounds like the composer might be a vampire, it's Bach.

If it sounds like the composer is trying to set the violins on fire, it's Vivaldi.

If it sounds like the composer is trying to shoot you, it's Tchaikovsky.

If it sounds like the composer is mansplaining to you, it's Wagner.

If it sounds like the composer is making fun of you, it's Mozart.

If it sounds like the composer is being a father figure to the music itself, it's Haydn

If it sounds like the composer is playing Star Wars 60 years early, it's Holst

If it sounds like the composer is trying to incite a riot, it's Stravinsky

If it sounds like the composer is crying, trying to race someone, or both, it’s Chopin

If it sounds like the composer is a frat boy from 1837, it’s Liszt

If it sounds like the cello is hunting you, it’s Franchomme
