Hello and welcome to another not-quite-NADSR monthly!

Hi to all of you still keeping an eye out for the blog! Tumblr sure isn’t!

Tumblr, babe, pls, I swear I’m not a bot. Can I have my blog back now?

The blog is still either shadowbanned or glitching out, so while I wish I could @ you all in appreciation for all your work, I quite literally don’t have access to that feature right now. Once I do have that feature, I’ll be making a giant megapost so that everybody gets a time to shine. I might also re-reblog all the pieces as well, because this blog doesn’t send notifications when it reblogs posts anymore.

In the meantime, I’ll reach out to tumblr. Again. I’d @ them here if I could. Don’t know what good it would do, but it would be satisfyingly petty, at least.

Now as far as the actual point of the blog goes: we have a March image!!! It represents my feelings towards the lack of support from tumblr.

Sorry it’s a few days late. There’s only one person running this place. Also, I keep hoping I’ll get all the blog features back. Also also… I procrastinate. That one’s on me.

If you missed the February not-monthly post, please also note that the blog will be going through a name change soon, and I’m looking to make a proper FAQ to link to — both of which I’m open to input for! Obviously I can’t receive your input just yet through the blog, but if you find that you can’t hold onto your feedback until I can, feel free to reach me @ Howellslides or FarahsAmboolents! (you may have noticed these blogs in your notifs already, I’m using them as NADSR proxy notifs for the time being). Or, if you’re in the discord server, plop it in the NADSR channel.

I’d link the discord server but I suspect that’s what gotten me banned in the first place. Through DMs, but still. I’m not taking any chances til I have my blog back.

for those of you checking in on the NADSR blog (hi! thank you!) there’s a good chance it’s been shadowbanned! either that or it’s been a victim of a glitch that has similar effects. maybe it’s a witches curse. you might have noticed me mentioning that @ tags aren’t working, which was the earliest clue. I don’t know if anyone has also tried to directly message the blog, but if you did, you’ll notice that the feature is no longer available — this was another clue.

i’ve reached out to tumblr support and hopefully they’ll get back to me soon, and furthermore, hopefully i can get all the blog features back! in retrospect, i realize that the only time i’ve sent DMs on this blog has been to provide links to the fandom discord upon request, which maaay have been a red flag. Dear tumblr, I promise that wasn’t bot behaviour.

our february image has been chosen, and if you’re checking in, you might as well have an early peek:

it’s a shorter month, can’t hurt to give y’all a heads up.

If the blog is still affected by February 1st, our monthly post won’t go up until the blog has been fully restored. Which I guess gives you more time for January NADSR! As I’ve said before, the deadline is until the next monthly post goes up. And even then, it isn’t a hard deadline, you’re welcome to go through any of the previous months and redraw any of those images, they’ll be reblogged as well.

DGHDA 2025 Zine Event is on its way!

Hey everyone! @goatyoat here. I decided to buckle down and make an official blog for this thing. From here on out all official Zine posts will go through this blog!

With that said, the response to the interest poll was overwhelmingly positive, so I'm (clearly) moving forward with the project. I've still got some back-end stuff to work on, but a schedule has been planned, a sign-up form is in the final-draft stage, and I am happy to announce that:

There is an FAQ page linked on this blog, but I will link it here as well for your convenience if you would like to learn more before you sign up. Please spread this around and give this blog a follow if you want to receive updates on the Zine!

Welcome to the first (of hopefully many!) Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency screenshot redraw challenges!

Who can participate: Literally anyone. Are you an established artist? Join! Is this literally your first time putting pen to paper? Join! Have you been a Dirk Gently fan since Douglas Adams first pitched the book to publishers? Join! Is this the first time you’ve ever heard of this show and/or book series? Join! And consider watching the show, we love recruiting fans.

What is it: Literally just take the screenshot in question, and redraw it! Here is our inaugural screenshot:

Draw in whichever style you like! Stick figures, photorealism, abstract shapes and colours meant to represent the image — it doesn’t matter! This isn’t a challenge anyone can win, it’s all about community building and fostering creativity. Hell, go ahead and remove the “drawing” part out of the challenge and make it out of play-dough, I just wanna see what you come up with!

When: I am currently typing this on the afternoon on August 1st, 2024, and I am officially calling this challenge OPEN. I’ll reblog any and all entries that I see, and I’ll do a master post with links to all entries on September 1st. I’ll also have next month’s screenshot challenge that day as well (unless I don’t, because, you know, life. But it’ll be at least close to that date).

Where: Here on tumblr. I’ll be following the tags “Normal Artists Doing Sane Redraws” as well as “NADSR” (I checked, both are empty as of now) (even on google, right now it’s only a North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue group — I’m glad those Dutch Shepherd’s have that resource available).

Why: Funzies. Creativity. Recruiting more people into the Dirk Gently fandom. And I just wanna see everybody’s take on drawing the same image!!!!

At the time of posting, the chapter associated with this video is not out yet, so beware spoilers.

That said, it was so awesome to get to work with @chromatic-casino. I love love love when I get to work with writers who love to bend the fabric of reality in their fics. So freaking cool. I'm not even kidding when I say I read their draft of this chapter and immediately knew I was going to make this. So PLEASE go read the associated fic.
