In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…

And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…

Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.

He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.

It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.

Just an extremely Normal thing to say

Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.

Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.

Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.

Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.

Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.

Reminder these are people.

Reminder that these are people

happy autism awareness day to all the girls who had “ friends” growing up who were actually bullying them . to the girls who always sat alone in the grass and wondered why nobody wanted to talk . to the girls who spoke to animals like they were listening . to the girls who created a little world in their room . to the girls who always felt ashamed for how deeply they love things and how passionately they enjoyed media . to the girls who covered their ears when they were overwhelmed by everything . to the girls who carrying a special thing around to feel safe . to the girls who never understood what they did wrong to feel so lonely . to the girls who were diagnosed later in life because they weren’t little boys who liked trains. you are so special and beautiful and you’re not worse for it, you love deeply and that is so wonderful please never try to push that down . I LOVE YOU !!!!!

Been thinking a lot about the transmasc experience lately and just how much modern activism just tends to let transmen down.

I’ve kinda pinned it down to two very simple things. No matter where we are, we’re either seen as too much like women to be seen as actual people, and too much like men for our victimhood and struggles to be acknowledged.

The transphobic and cishet part of society views us as “failed women” who are even more subhuman than women usually are, which leads to alienation, violence, and even worse misogyny than cis women deal with most of the time

but to “allies” and feminists and the rest of the queer community, we’re so much like men to the point where the struggles we deal with, the transphobia, violence, misogyny, the alienation and erasure, don’t actually matter and aren’t “that bad” and that we’re all just privileged selfish men looking to insert ourself into spaces we don’t belong in order to take attention away from the people who REALLY suffer, and we can’t get upset or blame people if they inherently label us as “unsafe” if we DARE to be “too masculine” or cis passing.

So we’re often stuck dealing with the violence, sexism, and transphobia society enacts on us while the communities around us who claim to care about us push us out of their spaces and neglect our needs and refuse us the right to speak on our own experiences. It’s kinda crazy how all of these ideas are so normalized. Kicking out transmen from conversations of oppression is not only unquestioned but just fully encouraged most of the time.

If you take part in this sort of rhetoric, you can’t question why transmen and transmascs are dropping dead around us. You are apart of the problem.

90s anime women were so fucking beauitful god bless. i miss them so much

shes the cutest anime girl ive ever seen and shes in the bg for 2 seconds

i think im in love with her. bg characters 4ever ❤️

since so many people are reblogging this the anime is Golden Boy 💖 its an ecchi comedy so expect the average "boobs bouncing lots of sex jokes" kind of humor but the art style and character designs are so pretty im just kind of fixated on that

this is the main lady:tm: she has a manic look in her eyes sometimes that i really enjoy

OP please elaborate

with pleasure

Artificially constructed characters relating to one another in ways which imply biological kinship are always fun, but "twins" is an especially tasty flavour. Like, maybe your mass-produced characters have angst about their lack of physical and social differentiation from one another; we're going to conceive our entire identities around embracing it, and you better fucking believe we're gonna get weird with it.
