i may have posted about these girls once a few years ago, or i may have only published one drawing with 'em, but since i'd decided to redesign them, i figured i could reintroduce them here

Tasya and Dunya are a part of my yet-to-be-created story with a 'magical girls in russia' setting, in which i wish to explore the traditional arts and crafts of various peoples & make others interested in them, too

down below is a short description for both girls:

1) Tasya (27 years old)

- is good-natured, helpful, but at the same time a bit quick-tempered; works as an accountant, & likes to make crafts from paper (origami, applique, etc.)

- has a few friends, including her BFF Dunya; has difficulties in socializing & picking up on social cues well (due to autism)

- becomes a magical girl when she asks a talking pike to make her magic; her main ability is to control solar and lunar energy

2) Dunya (28 years old)

- calm, responsible, cunning; works as an artist; likes to draw and crochet

- has a wide social circle, treasures her friendship with Tasya

- sits in a chair due to rheumatoid arthritis 👍

- when Tasya becomes a magical girl, Dunya helps her learn about her powers

the synopsis for the story for now is such: Tasya receives magical powers from the Sun Stone from a talking fish, and Dunya helps her friend explore the new abilities. However, that is where the trouble begins: the Sun Stone is sought out by people & monsters from another world, and they'll do anything to get their hands on it...

i'll also post 2023 versions for context. i wont lie, i like the simplicity of the original idea, but i wanted to explore the artistry of a traditional costume, so i chose to retire it & base the new design off of Ryasan costumes, embroidery, and ornament patterns

so embarrassing to get obsessed with your own oc but it doesn't fuel you creatively or motivate you at all you just sort of sit there. like yeah I've been thinking a lot about blorbo from my mind. no images of them exist in the world and they have maybe 3 personality traits so far. I would rather die than attempt to write about them. I've spent the last 48 hours rotating them in my brain though
