30s, she/her | BG3, dnd, and all around fantasy nerd | avid reader and writer | elinorbard on AO3 | pfp by xxnashiraxx | adult content ahead; 18+ only!

Hi, I'm Elinor! Baldur's Gate 3 still has me in a chokehold, and I mostly write the Dark Urge x Enver Gortash. All of my writing is on AO3 (also as elinorbard)! (All stories are adults only; Minors DNI)

recent fics:

Guilty Pleasure (Explicit, 8.4k / Act 3) One bad decision gets Ta'av arrested. Several more get her brought before Gortash to beg for her freedom.

Dead Girl Walking (Mature, 8k / Act 3) Ta'av descends into the Undercity for a long overdue reckoning with Orin the Red, and Gortash finds her in the aftermath.

Deadly Ambition (Explicit, Chapters: 10 / 12) U.S. Congressman Enver Gortash eagerly accepts Governor Richard Bhaal’s invitation to join his presidential campaign as his running-mate. In the process, he discovers the true mastermind behind the campaign: Bhaal's daughter, Elegy, who is as ruthless as she is charming. Together, they will do anything it takes to win the election… but will their web of deals and deception fall apart when they find themselves relentlessly drawn to each other?

Anyway I think we should really give BG3 more credit for making one of its major antagonists, the Chosen champion of the god of tyranny, a smug tech bro pushing AI for law enforcement applications and lying about how it's produced and programmed.

To all the Gortashfuckers in the notes: I am swatting you with a rolled up newspaper.

I literally feel like i'm losing my mind every time someone calls Gortash ugly or objects to the "handsome" line

Like.... he's literally a handsome guy. He's not a classic hollywood looking guy, but he's a handsome guy in his late 40s. These beauty standards are so annoying, not everyone has to look like a model- in fact, i think he's more handsome because he doesn't. And even so, he lives up to a LOT of classic beauty standards- the basic male body model is ripped as hell (not a fan of that, dad bod Gortash is canon in my heart, but it IS in game), typical hollywood stubble, and a full head of hair. So what's the problem, really? He looks his age? He has cheeks? His haircut is a bit funky? He literally isn't ugly, some people are just way too used to a very narrow view of beauty.

I will defend this guy's design until I die. If he was one of you guys' irl actor blorbos (like Mads Mikkelsen) you'd all be praising his "unconventional" looks.

If anything you should be objecting to the "younger" part, not the "handsome" one.

If anything, they should have made him uglier.

I saw you and Flame throwing questions at each other and I wanted to play so!! What do you think of as your inspiration for the conception of Ta'av? I don't mean that in the literal sense as in "how was Durge made", more like... when you sat down to make A Dark Urge, how did you come to settle on Ta'av? Did you have any specific ideas in mind for a character, is she based on older OCs or did you just go in with a blank slate to see what the character creator would inspire?

Hooray! I welcome fic/character questions literally any time! 💕

And the answer is: I had a color palette and a dream, baby! I wanted bone white skin and blood red hair, and I promised myself to be as slutty as possible (which morphed into "flirt with everyone"). I wanted to be a lore bard, because I am a lore bard love lore bards, and I wanted to be more chaotic than my first playthrough. Everything else came together along the way.

When I started Ta'av's game, I was just starting to get back into fandom. I initially wasn't thinking about what "Ta'av the character" would do beyond those general guiding principles. She was starting to solidify in my mind as I wrote my first fic, which was Astarion/reader-Durge, because x reader fics seemed like The Thing To Do. Diving into fanfic and seeing all the wonderful Durges and Tavs made me start pondering her more, I think.

And then Act 3 happened, and we all know how that turned out!

Man, life is just so much brighter and more vivacious when you give yourself permission to have batshit insane OCs if it makes you happy. Mary Sue is supposed to be an insult? Mary Sue is my best friend, she's my pal, she's my homegirl, my rotten soldier. My sweet cheese.

I'm gonna write spirits falling in love with mortals and Jedi winning the hearts of imperial princes and demigods kicking the shit out of other gods for their boyfriend and fat girls being the heroes and I'm gonna have so much fun doing it

The world is awful in so many ways. Give yourself permission to make your own joy

So @the0verboss is possibly the greatest artist of all time, because I went to him with a very vague sort of concept for the moment in Keep Telling Me To Breathe when Kass throws all common sense to the wind and heads into Banehold to retrieve Gortash's soul, and he gave me something that wouldn't be out of place on a 1980s glam metal album cover and I'm OBSESSED!! OBSESSED I TELL YOU!! I made noises and clapped my hands like a deranged seal at a water park!

I'm going to get this framed in the BIGGEST gold frame I can find because it deserves nothing but the BEST! Just like @the0verboss does! They still have commissions available, and they need the help after losing their job, so everybody should go throw money at them!
