I mean, if you don’t read work written by actual humans, and if you don't engage with work painted by real human artists, then you are asking for AI generative slop.
If you don’t want AI in your fandom spaces, then stop passivly contributing to its proliferation. Fucking engage with the content that people spend weeks of their spare time working on. I know it's hard and the act of acknowledging that people exist outside of you is particularly confronting. I know it's even harder to tell the creator that you found something exciting about their work but idk grow a fucking pair and write something that tells us you enjoyed our work. Anything is better than silence.
It's frustrating because I see these posts all the time, but no one is willing to do the work. Do you want to know why AI is so prolific? It's because everything needs to be here,now, short, sweet and above all else CONSUMABLE.
You guys know what art is not? A fucking consumable bite.
If you want more human work in your fandom, then ENGAGING with artists, writers and fan creators in general is key because atm the landscape in the creative space is dire if not actively hostile towards the creative process. Ignoring creators and their work means they stop sharing it. It means you get less soul and more shlock. Right now, it seems that fandom spaces, like everywhere else, want quickly consumable AI slop.
Be the change you want to see. ENGAGE! Because right now the work to reward ratio is in the fucking red and AI generative slop is the key winner.
