He’s light and uncertainty in the first scene. His clothes and makeup help with that, but fuck me the body acting- Young!NHS is all hunched up and shoulders high, little wispies of hair framing his face and softening it. He is nervous and soft and unsure of his place even as he hushes Wei Wuxian, his known lesser.
Older!NHS is finally realized confidence born from dark times. He is a man who has to live with the weight of his decisions and his role in life. He keeps himself contained- dark, heavy clothes, his hair pulled back from his face, his expression carefully maintained as he speaks to Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian. He is dark when compared to his former self, but in shades of grays rather than pure blacks. The fan is a nod to his old self, a hint of the softness he once bore.
when I was a little kid at some point I got upset with my parents because I didn't have a crucifix in my bedroom and they did- I was like why do YOU get to be safe from vampires??? you're okay with me getting my blood sucked???? so we took a little trip to the catholic store but the one closest to us was run by a group of nuns that had been moved here from romania. I feel like I've complained about Tim's email situation in Gotham Knights before (edit: I have), but the truth of it is just so funny.
He's signed up for so many podcasts, video game streamers, and random news alerts; it's just a constant barrage of data going straight into his constantly whirring brain. Hell, he even floats the idea of the Batfamily having their own podcast as a way to correct misinformation about them (which Jason shoots down instantly), and it's made me realize something.
Timothy Drake would be a YouTuber.
In this universe specifically, Timothy Jackson Drake, the heir to Drake Industries and the foster son of the late Bruce Wayne would be a YouTuber.
Think about it. It'd be the perfect cover. Who would ever suspect that some 16-year-old nepo baby with a YouTube channel could ever be Red Robin? You'd have to be mad. I mean, look at him.
Red Robin just dropped out of literal thin air and garotted someone four times his size, and you expect anyone to believe that's the same kid who does 24-hour Minecraft charity streams and occasionally drops 6-hour video essays (his last one was on Lex Luthor's illegal bit mining operation on the moon)?

Maybe they know norovirus, COVID, influenza, tuberculosis, measles, and other infectious diseases are airborne and spread by aerosols that can linger in the air for hours, and that handwashing or sanitizers are insufficient.
Maybe they are aware that there’s a measles outbreak, and that it still carries many risks, including immune amnesia/the immune system forgetting how to fight off illnesses it had once learned to fight.
Maybe they know that the COVID virus has been found to have multiple impacts to the immune system.
Maybe they realize that the more times someone has COVID, the risk for Long COVID increases, that even mild COVID infections from current variants are still causing Long COVID and other health problems, and that people still get these long-term, often disabling conditions whether or not they have had vaccines.
Maybe they don’t believe it’s ok to leave anyone behind and know everyone deserves and has a right to exist in public spaces, and they see continued masking as a way they can actively embody and advocate for this.
