A group of Wikipedia editors have formed WikiProject AI Cleanup, “a collaboration to combat the increasing problem of unsourced, poorly-written AI-generated content on Wikipedia.” The group’s goal is to protect one of the world’s largest repositories of information from the same kind of misleading AI-generated information that has plagued Google search results, books sold on Amazon, and academic journals. “A few of us had noticed the prevalence of unnatural writing that showed clear signs of being AI-generated, and we managed to replicate similar ‘styles’ using ChatGPT,” Ilyas Lebleu, a founding member of WikiProject AI Cleanup, told me in an email. “Discovering some common AI catchphrases allowed us to quickly spot some of the most egregious examples of generated articles, which we quickly wanted to formalize into an organized project to compile our findings and techniques.”

I would really appreciate it if y'all would stop yelling at me or calling me cruel for pitting "your faves" against each other.
When I reblogged the Marceline Vs Garnet poll I was being overly dramatic in the tags for fun and I did not meant any of those literally, sorry
I guess... thinking about it the only thing was that the way the bracket was seeded two characters i really liked went head on right in the begining (which is not the end of the world by any mean), but seeing in your description you are running a "blind draw" tournament so that's bound to happen
Out of curiosity I searched about tournament bracket seeding and found the site printyourbracket.com helpful with terminology and bracket examples
I do think a "seeded" tournament is way more enjoyable than a "blind draw" one, but for that you'd have to pre-rank the characters somehow so I understand not doing it (I also did though about it, for this particular tournament you could use the number of tumblr posts said character's tag has on tumblr to rank from most to least popular)
Huh but yeah anyway, keep doing what you like for fun
Propaganda for Marceline: "~I'm gonna drink the red of your pretty pink face~"
Propaganda for Link: no message
Propaganda for Garnet:
This is Garnet, back together And I'm never goin' down at the hands of the likes of you Because I'm so much better And every part of me is saying, "Go get her"
The two of us ain't gonna follow your rules Come at me without any of your fancy tools Let's go, just me and you Let's go, just one on two
When you first heard the phrase "shuffled off this mortal coil," what did you think the word "coil" was referring to? Wondering if I was the only one who misunderstood it.
The world
One's own body
Something else
I honestly have no idea
A coil is coily thing (picture for reference)
They can break easily, thus they're mortal
If you a put a platform on top of them (second picture) they became quite bouncy because coils are springy
And when you shove somebody onto it in like in video games they'll bounce back up with additional height and are now able to go cross higher walls, which is dangerous because there could be a bottomless pit on the other side and they could die, hence the "death" allegory
wikipedia is a gem
If I’m correct, this is from the article “list of common misconceptions” which happens to be one of my favorite Wikipedia articles
The whole article is a wild ride.
W...was this up for debate?
It's the first Tuesday in February, time to have a click around the Wikipedia list of common misconceptions!
had a fascinating english class that resulted in the notes header “the forcefeminization of victor frankenstein”
what the people want, the people get
you see
my professor’s take is that mary shelley is feminizing victor throughout the novel, as a way of flipping gender roles and putting a male character through female experiences.
evidence as explained:
- victor is creating life. he is putting his health at risk (spends two years with little sleep or socialization) to bring life forth into this world
- his illness after he is shocked by the creature coming to life is akin to both ‘hysteria’ and postpartum depression
- he pretty much swoons, let’s be honest
- henry clerval, a man who has been characterized as manly and heroic, has to chase after damsel-in-distress victor and care for him as he convalesces
- afterward, he hides what he did and went through, for fear that others will label him crazy and emotional and not believe him. sound familiar?
- Victor in general is more emotional than the other characters and is constantly tempering his reactions to not be seen as irrational
- the book does not otherwise have central female characters
Also, Shelley’s mother died in childbirth. It’s interesting, then, that Shelley presents the creation of life as something horrific and damaging. She parallels Victor with her mother.
in conclusion, Frankenstein (1818) by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley is one of the first examples of mpreg in English literature
Quietly losing my mind over the fact that Elon Musk has straight up orchestrated a coup of our executive branch and like....I don't even know what, if any, system we have in place to fix this. Like... He's just taken control of the money and locked out the actual appointed officials. What the fuck.
Nazis are taking over my government, and like, not even just the Nazis we fucking elected! And I'm...making hamburgers? Because somebody has to make dinner? I just feel completely unhinged.
I think that's how random civillians generally feel in these situations. Someone's gotta make dinner.
If you're wondering, there is plenty to be done about it, and plenty being done about it already, even if it's not happening instantly in a way you can perceive.
Reblogging because this is an excellent article that both tells you about some of what's being done and breaks it down in a way that will help you understand and think about future action. Please read!

Theme Announcement for February 2025 Vocaloid Song Tournament
It is time yet again to announce the theme for the next Vocaloid song tournament! Now, some of you may celebrate Valentine's Day, which is symbolic of romance and love in many modern cultures. If you don't, I understand as an aroace woman. However, this holiday presents an excellent opportunity for a unique theme on this blog: Vocaloid duets! I had this theme planned out prior to 2025, but shout-out to @em-um-canto anyway for the theme suggestion!
I am including Vocaloid/Vocalsynth duets that I believe are the most iconic from the ones that amassed tens to hundreds of millions of views to the ones that recently released. Could that mean that there is some personal bias in the song selection? Perhaps. Also, I am not including duets between Rin and Len because they could have their own tournament based on those (and that partially happened anyway in December 2023).
If your favorite Vocaloid duets do not make the tournament, please do not be upset because there are many songs to choose from! Otherwise, you can look forward to the tournament starting on February 10th at 10 PM CST. Until then, off-season polls start tonight and continue daily at 6 PM CST. Regardless of the poll, please remember to vote, reblog, spread harmless propaganda, and have fun! :D
Thanks for the shoutout (even though like you said this idea was something you already thought before)! I love your tournaments! I feel like this one is gonna have some bangers and heavy contanders against eachother oooh is gonna be fun
same moment different angle
