Hello! I'm sweaterghost on ao3, and fadedsweater on tumblr! You can call me Sweater! :)

I write Dragon Age fic. Most of that is solavellan fic, or sometimes other Solas rarepairs. I also occasionally write bg3 fic.

#dai#veilguard#veilguard critical#obsessed with his relationship with mythal as toxic devotion#the inherent contradiction of his relationship with her and his outward judgement of similar situations is SO juicy#mythal#solas#she is there in almost every regret mural she is there asking him to take a body and that is the raw kernel of HURT and trauma#that lies at the core of him#and yet!#he is still SO devoted to her! even as he doesn't visit her in the fade pocket he made for her#even as he begs the Inquisitor not to drink from the Well of Sorrows because it would bind them to Mythal's will forever#even as he built a home for Mythal in his rebellion and she just never came and he was so hurt over this that Felessan wrote about it!#god! its just so interesting#and I wish veilguard had done more with Mythal as this sort of figure of toxic motherhood and toxic devotion and justice turned vengeance#or had actually like idk MENTIONED the well that binds people to her will forever#or the fact that Solas once wore her vallaslin and that vallaslin were used to mark slaves#I think these unpleasant truths about Mythal make her MORE interesting! and make her dynamic with Solas MORE interesting and complex#the power imbalance! the toxic devotion spanning thousands of years! anyway if I keep going I'll go down a rabbit hole of ranting so#SIGH#Mythal I love you and I REMEMBER your speech about vengeance that would shake the heavens#and how you willingly gave Solas your power in the Inquisition post credits I'm so sorry they nerfed you

#I don't write them together often enough but Dorian#he and Eira are both guarded ecclectic scholarly types Dorian just has a different sort of defense mechanism (the humor and charm)#in one wip that probably wont get published she says 'neither of us are good at [making] friends'#i should write more about the two of them#i do have a scene written out for my post-Veilguard fic where she gets the sending crystal to work and tells him something like#'I love you. you're my oldest dearest friend. I'm so sorry I didnt say goodbye'#but its okay she and solas figure out how to get some eluvians working so she can visit#anyway I also think they wouldnt have been so close if they hadnt gone through the time travel shenanigans together like#theyre both similar enough (insofar as they are guarded emotionally) that they easily could've NOT gotten along#but the time travel was forced bonding lmao they speedran through some of the awkward stages#anyway enough OC yapping#eira lavellan
