Fanzine Watch is Shutting Down

Hi ya’ll, I’m sorry to say that starting today, I will no longer be updating this tumblr or my website. I’ve known for a long time that this project was unsustainable and I think I should quit while I’m ahead. I feel really bad because so many of you have reached out to say that this blog/site was helpful to you, but it’s just way too time consuming. Although definitely rewarding, maintaining everything has become bad for my mental and physical health with too many hours in front of a screen.

Please support the other zine tracking tumblrs and twitters out there, of which there are many. I will keep fanzinewatch.com up until the domain expires in the Summer but it will not be updated so the pages will be inaccurate soon. If anyone wants to take over this project (doubtful, but who knows) I’d be happy to hand over any files to get you started.

So long and keep on being wonderful!

Thank you so much! I was inspired to create my site because I noticed it was really hard to find zines just by searching. Especially since they’re so time sensitive. I don’t want to leave everyone high and dry, but I also don’t really follow other Zine blogs (I didn’t want to “steal” from them, so I avoided that). I’m not sure which ones are the most “comprehensive,” but I would recommend the ones that have a robust tagging system like @zinefeed

Please shout out some recommendations (or your own blog) in the replies so I can boost other blogs here (they don’t need to be on tumblr):
