I have always defended the idea that no player is bigger that the club. No one can be more important than the institution itself. And yet, if this is how the club has chosen to treat one of their biggest (if not the biggest) legends of the past few decades, what message there is for the younger players? I am disgusted with the way things are being handled, and yet not surprised on the slightest. In any case, above all, I appreciate Thomas for being honest with us and telling us the way things happened.

So perhaps there are players bigger than the club - there are players willing to treat their fans with respect and consideration, things a club - or perhaps, a football business - seems uncapable of doing.
