An enemy is just a friend I haven't worn down

Are you saying that you're the main character of a kids cartoon?

I'm saying that "I'm going to be friends with you" is both a promise and a threat

And Shamura is done too! Now all that’s missing are the Lamb and Shrimp (and Narinder, but he’s literally the least important to me lmao who knows when he’ll be done)

(if you saw this post without the photos originally...no you didn't)

Anyway, narilamb angst be upon ye.

Sorry for being so inactive. I'm a senior in college, so I'm working on my capstone daily. o7

This comic was months in the making. Originally I was going to color and line it but that sounded like way too much work for me to get done in a timely manner so here's it in sketch form. Which I think still has the intended effect. (sorry if the style looks like it changes at some points)

This is a part of my au! This takes place weeks after Narinder's defeat so they're both still a little salty. Nari's becoming slightly softer as time goes on, though. Wonder why hmm

I love this au and I do plan on releasing some character designs along with a lore dump at some point...but that probably won't be until I graduate because I will be incredibly busy until then. So, if you have questions about my au. Please ask. Please. I love yapping about these blorbos. :]

okay byeee

'IN LITTLE WAYS, EVERYTHING STAYS'

(part 1/3)

BREAKING NEWS: SILLY LESHY MOMENT INTERRUPTED BY THE FIRST TIME THIS MF IS ALONE WITH HIS REFLECTION AFTER THE QUADRUPLE ENUCLEATION OF HIS EYES. This one takes place pretty soon after the schism, I will NEVER draw these comics in chronological order and that's why I just leave it up to my pinned post to actually put them in a concise order

I have all the art done for this comic but it has a kallamar infodump in part 2 that I'm really having trouble wording, so I'm *hoping* I can post the next two pages over the next two days, but not 100% sure

Hmmmm sbi au with them turning into supervillains and choosing their family over the world

Phil going rouge and murdering a hero, and instantly techno gets messages from the hero HQ to NOT approach phil and to get back NOW and Techno obviously assumes this is a mind control situation and so refuses to leave Phil in danger, only to then see Phil and see that he’s. Still himself. A little blood stained a little scared but he’s himself. And he’s asking Techno to just come with him and figure this out. It won’t be pretty and he’ll be asked to do terrible things but they’ll at least be together

Techno hears HQ going “DO NOT TRUST HIM HE’S COMPROMISED” in his ear and then promptly throws out his comm and goes with Phil to try and make a plan

Wil being on his own patrol, hearing that both Techno and Phil are compromised and now a threat, and of course his instinct is to go after them and ignore HQ, but some heroes have already been sent to retrieve him, so he reluctantly goes with, asking so many questions. What happened? Are they hurt? Who’s doing this to them? He’s told nothing. He’s getting frustrated, and before he can stop the other heroes and shake an answer out of them, Techno and Phil find them.

Wil watches as these people he’s worked beside for years are suddenly struck down, killed within moments, bodies left at his feet, and he assumes someone is forcing his family to commit these sort of atrocities. He is fully ready to try his best to apprehend Techno and Phil long enough for HQ to deal with whoever has done this to them, and yet. Phil insists thats not whats happening. Techno looks a little overwhelmed, but he’s still himself. They’re both themselves. They insist this is their own choice, and theyve got to keep moving to get Tommy before the heroes go throw him in a bunker somewhere

Wilbur looks to the bodies on the ground, then looks to the blood on his brother’s hands. What sort of person would he be to let his family do this alone?

He goes.

Tommy is aware of nothing except of the fact that something terrible has happened, and HQ is sure that he’s the most in danger right now. Tommy knows it has to do with something with Phil, but beyond that, he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know, and it’s KILLING HIM. He’s told not to leave this room. They took his comms. They took his weapons. Tommy feels vaguely like a criminal put into a cage, but the top heroes insisted this was for his safety. They just insisted that, and ignored his screaming demands for them to call Wil or Techno. He wishes he didnt let them take his phone. He has an awful feeling in his stomach, and he wants to call his brothers. He wants to call his dad. He wants to know whats going on.

It doesn’t take too long before Tommy is trying at the locked door, feeling too trapped in the room. He forces his way out, then demands for his family to be brought, and then finds a sort of fear as the heroes ignore him and instead point their weapons at his heart, like he’s a rabid animal about to bite.

He doesn’t know whats going on. He doesn’t know anything, except for the fact that he’s in danger.

He’s been trained to protect himself by any means, at any cost, by protective hands who never wanted their youngest to be helpless in the face of danger.

When Phil finally finds Tommy, it’s with him standing over the body of a hero, utter terror in his eyes, hands lifted like in surrender. For a moment, Tommy is absolutely convinced Phil will have to arrest him like all the other criminals they’ve ever fought.

Phil only smiles in relief and hugs him close, and tell them theyve got to go. Techno and Wil are rigging the place to blow, and better for their sake to get far far away for when that happens

Phil: i know this is a lot to ask its against everything i ever taught you but-

Techno: k im in

Wil: whats the plan

Tommy: OH GOOD so you wont hate me for the fact i just killed a man? 😅 good good im fine with this then

Phil: this is making me wonder if i fathered correctly

I would imagine that Phil did raise his kids that with great power comes great responsibility but he also drilled into them that family comes before all, and for the most part he never realized how far they would take those teachings but BOY is he glad now that they held that lesson close

I believe that attitudes towards art will always come to impact other academic areas

“the curtains are just blue” okay and this study proving known carcinogens are “good for you, actually” paid for and published by scientists funded by a major producer of those materials is probably totally objective too

I don't understand the connection you're making?

The average citizen needs to instinctively approach complex information with the intent of understanding not only the information presented, but with active critical thinking required to determine if the platform presenting the information is reliable and trustworthy

If you read a story about a sad person in a room with blue curtains blocking out the sun, maybe it’s nothing. But if you come at it ACTIVELY SEARCHING for more, you may come away with a lesson

maybe the author was saying the sad person could move the curtains and is choosing not to, thereby saying that we as individuals have some control over our own happiness but are either unwilling or unable to exert our control, which could teach you about how feelings work or how to help others and yourself

maybe the author didn’t mean to say that, but it makes sense anyway, and you learn to view complex situations differently. You are literally building up the structures inside your brain that make you more analytical, more insightful, develop better and faster thinking skills

But if you’re never encouraged to even consider the possibility, if you take the curtains at face value and never challenge it, never consider the possibility of metaphor or symbolism, you DON’T grow those networks.

Without those skills and connections, you don’t learn to be inquisitive and make connections and you don’t learn how to seek out proof or fact-check yourself. You don’t learn how to recognize yourself when you’re wrong, or how to check if you’re right.

So you take everything at face value. Is Hamlet a reliable narrator? Who gives a shit. Is this sales rep pitching a legitimate product that will change countless lives for the better, or are they scamming me? Well, no way to find out, guess I have to listen to hem or the influencers they paid off or your random ass neighbor who says it’s a government listening device.

And the VERIFICATION part- finding evidence to support your theories!

Have you noticed how many people are buying into wild conspiracies now? That Antarctica is actually a giant wall of ice circling the earth, that the earth itself is flat, that vaccines cause autism and wifi is mind control?

Those are coming from people who either KNOW they’re lying for a profit, or from well-intentioned people who know how to be inquisitive and critical but never learned how to SEEK OUT AND EVALUATE RELIABLE DATA FROM RELIABLE SOURCES.

Being able to understand the message behind Catcher in the Rye might not benefit you in the short term, but it’s essentially a series of push-ups to strengthen your brain so you don’t take fucking horse dewormer to kill a virus cause the president told you to

The world is starting to see average citizens, most alarmingly in the USA, graduating and going into life without these skills, and younger generations not seeing anything wrong with that

Which is terrifying much in the same way as getting into the back of an Über and seeing the driver pull out his phone to Google “what is brakes” while going 110 on the freeway
