it's already humiliating when you get into new media, take one look at a character, and know that one's gonna be living in your head indefinitely, but it's absolutely nothing compared to looking at a character and thinking eh i don't think i'd ever have strong feelings about that one he's kinda boring and then he sits quietly in the back of your brain poking idly at synapses and thoughts every once in a while until one day you wake up and realise oh. oh fuck. category 5 blorbo moment, how the ever loving fuck did this happen to me
May his memory be a blessing.
Willem Arondéus (22 August 1894 – 1 July 1943) was a Dutch artist and author who joined the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance movement during World War II. He participated in the bombing of the Amsterdam public records office to hinder the Nazi German effort to identify Dutch Jews and others wanted by the Gestapo. Arondéus was caught and executed soon after his arrest. Yad Vashem recognized Arondéus as Righteous Among the Nations.
Their attack, which took place on 27 March 1943, was partially successful, and they managed to destroy 800,000 identity cards, and retrieve 600 blank cards and 50,000 guilders. The building was blown up and no one was caught on the night of the attack. However, due to an unknown betrayer, Arondéus was arrested on 1 April 1943. Arondéus refused to give up the rest of his team.
Arondéus was openly gay before the war and defiantly asserted his sexuality before his execution. His final words were:

Well, you know, some bathroom graffiti offers insight.
Red marker handwriting on a bathroom wall. Text reads:
“Boss made a dollar Granddad made a dime But that was a poem From a simpler time.
Boss made a thousand Gave pa a cent But that penny paid the mortgage Or at least it paid the rent
Now Boss makes a million And gives us jack Smugly blames the workers For the labor that he lacks.”
And the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls.
for the LAST TIME: goon, henchman, and minion are LEGALLY DISTINCT CATEGORIES.
goons are unionized, part of the goonion. if you are employed at will, ESPECIALLY if you’re paid under the table, you’re a henchmen. and you’re only a minion if you’re being coerced and meet the legal standard for duress. recently this has been almost entirely brainwashing, but more traditional forms of duress still meet the threshold for minion.
if your employer pays you above board but you’re not part of the goonion—SIGN UP. don’t let your employer abuse you at work!!
oooooo what a cool post my mutual just reblogged ! I think I will reblog it as well !!! oooooh who did they reblog it from ? That username seems familiar,,, hohoho it's me ! from an hour ago !
tfw you get rejected by a studio, spend a few days moping about it because you really needed that job, but eventually make peace with it and decide that you didn't wanna work there anyway because everything you've heard about them was Bad
then 2 weeks later they come crawling back like "due to a change in circumstances we'd like to reconsider you please please please 🥺🥺🥺"
=_= 🚬
“Appeal to a wider audience” is corporate lingo for “strip more themes from a piece of media so it’s safer and more sanitized for investors”
I struck a nerve in the billionaire fandom with this one
