i accept blood sacrifices and credit cards

current fandom: rwrb, rwrb rpf (idk why this fandom seems to be so militantly against rpf when the author themself wrote rpf and alex in the book finds rpf about himself hilarious and not gross. anyway, rpf fans, pls come get me.)

past/less active fandoms or pairings in order of how recently read or wrote in them: - obi wan/anakin + ewan/hayden rpf - wangxian and zsww from (wang yibo/xiao zhan rpf for the untamed. yes i went dynamic specific for this fandom because of the attitude) - black panther mcu: t'challa/n'jadakaa, (wrote chadwick/mbj rpf back in the day but couldn't finish it now with chadwick gone from the world) - jace/alec, clary/izzy (shadowhunters) - merlin, stargate (mcshep, jack/daniel), and others

about me: agender, he/her. neurodivergent with strong justice sensitivity so it'll be impossible for me to connect with people who are apolitical. i only interact with zionists/racists when contractually obligated to do so. it's been hard to be in fandom during an ongoing genocide.

On this year women's day, all we could think about are Palestinian women in Gaza.

Nearly 9,000 women have been killed in Israeli attacks in five months. Another 2,100 are missing and presumed dead, while 23,000 have been wounded and over half a million are displaced.

“Palestinian women, especially in the Gaza Strip, are exposed to the worst humanitarian catastrophe,” Ashraf al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesperson, said on Thursday.

Dozens of women and girls have also been detained and face harsh conditions in Israeli custody, including sexual abuse.

Women in Gaza also struggle to find menstruation products and access the necessary pregnancy and post-natal care. The consequences on reproductive health, including a rise in stress-induced miscarriages, stillbirths and premature births, have increased significantly.

Women in labour are undergoing caesarean procedures without anaesthetics, and a shortage of post-operative care such as medication, antibiotics and pain relief further exacerbates the situation.

According to the health ministry, 5,000 women give birth monthly in Gaza under “harsh, unsafe and unhealthy” conditions caused by Israeli bombing and displacement.

There are 60,000 pregnant women in Gaza suffering from “malnutrition, dehydration and lack of medical care.

There have also been repeated cases of Israeli soldiers mocking Palestinian women by posting videos and pictures of themselves rummaging through personal belongings in Gaza homes, making derogatory comments and posing with women’s underwear.

The Panthers used to ride around and follow the police.

So the cops would pull over some sorry black person, and get ready to rough him up, but then there were the Panthers right behind them. Watching, armed to the teeth, and citing legal statutes. It’s inspirational.

That’s why the FBI broke them up, isn’t it ?

That among other community initiatives. They had weapons training, self defense, their free breakfast program and ran a newspaper. They raised money to pay for bail and legal funding for people. And they used to notify the community of their rights and encourage people to know the laws and protest the one which were unjust. That type of shit irked the local police and damned sure struck a nerve with the FBI. They were taking back the streets and providing the protection the police were never interested in bringing to their neighborhoods from the very start. So it’s always fuck the FBI for me.

To be more specific they were communists distributing and teaching communist theory to their communities. Their organization also functioned and was organized by Marxism. And within that context it was Very Bad for the Black Panthers to be doing a better job of taking care of their communities than capitalists were.

For example, aside from aiming to monitor and end police brutality they also cared Deeply about their communities. So much that they also provided healthcare which included ambulances and vaccines. Black neighborhoods often had to wait Way longer for ambulances when necessary so the Black Panthers stepped up. They even had free clinics-funded by donations and ran by professionals- that provided some basic services that Black people were being underserved in.

Each local chapter was responsible for raising funds for its clinic from local businesses, churches, and healthcare professionals. Trusted volunteer professionals staffed the free clinics. These professionals included physicians, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and medical students who also trained community members to staff the clinics as lab technicians, patient advocates, and community health workers.
[…]PFMCs primarily provided first aid and basic services such as childhood vaccinations and screenings for high blood pressure, lead poisoning, tuberculosis, and diabetes. In 1971 PFMCs began community education and screening of sickle cell anemia, a genetic disease mainly affecting people of African ancestry.

Free breakfast in school?

Also the Black Panthers. They saw hungry kids who were getting bad grades and falling asleep and decided to feed them to see if it helped. It did. So much so that schools and governments started implementing it.

Free Breakfast For School Children was one of the most effective. It began in January 1969 at an Episcopal church in Oakland, and within weeks it went from feeding a handful of kids to hundreds. The program was simple: party members and volunteers went to local grocery stores to solicit donations, consulted with nutritionists on healthful breakfast options for children, and prepared and served the food free of charge.
School officials immediately reported results in kids who had free breakfast before school. “The school principal came down and told us how different the children were,” Ruth Beckford, a parishioner who helped with the program, said later. “They weren’t falling asleep in class, they weren’t crying with stomach cramps.

Between healthcare, Marxism, providing food, monitoring police, and showing everyone that aid could be provided through voluntary donations and free of cost to those receiving it….

The Black Panthers were dangerous to capitalism.

A far-right activist group that is doxxing college students who engage in pro-Palestinian protests revealed that it is funded by top Republican political donors and nonprofits backed by wealthy business leaders, a tax return reviewed by CNBC shows.

The group, Accuracy in Media, publicly disclosed on its federal tax return a list of donors who combined to contribute nearly $1.9 million to the tax-exempt nonprofit between May 2022 and April of last year.

The contributors listed on the tax return include billionaire Republican megadonor Jeff Yass, who Accuracy in Media said gave it $1 million.

The family foundation of shipping supply magnate Richard Uihlein is also identified on the tax return, which says the Ed Uihlein Family Foundation gave $10,000. The Milstein Family Foundation, which is run by real estate executive and Republican donor Adam Milstein, gave another $10,000, the group reported to the IRS.

According to its tax return, Accuracy in Media said it received $15,000 from the Coors brewing family’s charitable foundation. The Adolph Coors Foundation is chaired by former Molson Coors executive Peter H. Coors, according to the foundation’s latest tax records.

Yass, Uihlein, Milstein and Coors have all donated regularly to Republican campaigns over the past decade.

But Yass stands apart from the others. The co-founder of options trading powerhouse Susquehanna International Group and his wife Janine are the biggest political donors of the 2024 election. So far, Yass and his wife have contributed $70 million to dozens of Republican candidates and committees, according to the nonpartisan campaign finance database OpenSecrets.

Much of the cardboard and paper goods strewn about our homes — the mail-order boxes and grocery store bags — are sold by a single private company, with its name, Uline, stamped on the bottom. Few Americans know that a multibillion-dollar fortune made on those ubiquitous products is now fueling election deniers and other far-right candidates across the country.

Dick and Liz Uihlein of Illinois are the largest contributors to Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, who attended the Jan. 6 rally and was linked to a prominent antisemite, and have given to Jim Marchant, the Nevada Secretary of State nominee who says he opposed the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory in 2020. They are major funders to groups spreading election falsehoods, including Restoration of America, which, according to an internal document obtained by ProPublica, aims to “get on God’s side of the issues and stay there” and “punish leftists.”

This is also not the first time the occupation has put Palestinian men in concentration camps. During the era of the Palestinian revolt, they established 13 concentration camps for Palestinian boys and men (ages 15+). They forced them to dig their own graves before shooting them in the back of the head so they could die in them (link has an unreliable narrator who tries to minimize the impact of the genocide). During the era of the Nakba, 1947-1949, the Palestinians in these camps were forced to loot their own villages and the bodies of massacred Palestinians. When not killed they were tortured as well. They were subsequently killed as well. Billions of dollars' worth of goods were looted from us, in modern day quantity. Before 1948, they were run by the British. After 1948, they were run by zionist settlers, some of them even Holocaust survivors themselves, and the number of them grew to 22.

Once again, this is not new. Do not ever let them convince you anything they do is new.

Do you know anything i can donate to for palestine that's not the gofundmes because the idea of having to choose who needs my money more is just. scary to me they all need it 3: maybe there's a thing that splits/distributes money evenly???? idk but help would be appreciated

Gazafunds actually deals with this anxiety and makes a decision for you if you want. Their home page has a spotlighted fundraiser and the code consider things like how close the gfm is to finishing, when the most recent donation is, etc. So it's randomized to help as many people as possible.

There's also @helpgazachildren which if you donate, you can help multiple people at once since it's a whole mutual aid fund, or at least close to it. Hussam distributes money to people who need it when he's asked.

I don’t think we’ve put it enough into perspective.

Rafah is 48 times smaller than Rhode Island. Israel is forcing millions of Gazans into Rafah and trapping them all to bomb them. Keep speaking, keep telling others, keep protesting, do not turn your back on them! It is imperative we keep it up!

The situation in the Jabalia refugee camp in north Gaza needs attention!

Not only did Israel declare that their operations in the north had ended, only for them to return in full force, but Israel's nonstop strikes are targeting a densely populated area as well as invading UNRWA schools.

Each of these UNRWA schools has been sheltering about 10,000 people. Six of these schools are being directly targeted right now and reports are saying that tanks are approaching the entrance of these schools.

Also, if you know anything about refugee camps you know how houses are almost on top of each other with barely any space and alleyways are so narrow sometimes only allowing one person to pass through at a time. This can paint a picture of the amount of destruction and death that will be caused by Israel's invasion and strikes of the Jabalia refugee camp.

As a reminder there are no fully functioning hospitals in the area and the wounded are expected to die as a result of not only lack of medical support but also because Israel makes it impossible for ambulances or people to get to the wounded by targeting the ways leading up to them.

Everything I mentioned above has been something we have at some point screamed about during the past months and in fact the past years. None of this is a new tactic or approach by Israel. Yet, this continues to happen because despite its obvious crimes, Israel is allowed to enact with complete impunity. We were worried about allowing Israel to set a precedent, but what does it tell you now that Israel had repeated the same heinous crimes over and over again while they're being televised?

Keep talking about Gaza, from Jabalia to Rafah.

in an industry full of zionists and activists who only cares abt what slips into their pockets, be a mark ruffalo or a joe alwyn or a melissa barrera or a nicola coughlan or basically any artist that openly supports Palestine 🫶🏻🇵🇸

I know someone who calls herself a feminist, puts her pronouns in her work email signature, donates money to women’s empowerment funds, and thinks we should deport more refugees. I also know someone who calls people ‘pussies’ when he plays video games, who doesn’t know what a pronoun is, and, for his defence of low-wage women workers in a highly-exploited industry, is a better, more strident defender of the rights of working-class women than almost anyone else I know. Of these two people, I know who is on my team, and who I want on my team, yet the standard liberal feminist calculation would have me chose the woman who loves a little deportation over the man who is occasionally uncouth, solely because the woman knows to keep her language civil, and the man doesn’t. Liberal feminists get incredibly caught up in the politics of language, because language is all they have. They don’t have a revolutionary programme for overthrowing patriarchy, so they’re forced to tinker around the edges of it, quibbling over word choice and jargon instead of building the coalitions necessary for destroying patriarchy.

We Should Not All Be Feminists by Frances Wright

Thinking about the two (male) coworkers I had a few farm jobs ago, one of whom was a very well spoken and politically knowledgeable self reported socialist who was nevertheless urging me to stay silent about the lower wages I was receiving so I didn't compromise his job. The OTHER one was a foulmouthed nineteen year old who didn't know what trans meant (but listened VERY well when I talked about it) and was absolutely up in arms about the wage inequality, and honestly any injustice in front of him. I'll let you guess which if them I'm still in touch with
