Found Family Whump

@foundfamilywhump / foundfamilywhump.tumblr.com

What it says on the tin - whump sideblog (follows back from @altschmerzes) with a focus on found family dynamics. Call me Gav. He/They. 26. Aromantic + romance repulsed. Queue posts twice a day + regular reblogs whenever I’m around.

whump intro!

i've been saying i'm gonna do this for literal years so it's probably high time i actually do that! so here it is - long time listener first time caller, i've been lurking in the whump community and participating in some discords and occasionally whump posting on main on my regular blog for some time now, and i've been wanting to get my official Whump BlogTM up and running for a while. if you keep waiting for the right time, though, the right time will simply never come! so here it is. i'm gav, he/they, i'm 25, and this will probably be a combination of fandom and original whump content. mostly reblogging for now, but i plan to post links to my fic when i post whump fic and hopefully will get some giffing powers at some point! i'm on ao3 at altschmerzes.

info about my likes/dislikes and some important blog maintenance notes under the cut!

Whumpee who has nightmares they wake up from completly silent from

They'd curl up into a small ball and cry

Caretaker would find this out eventually and whumpee would panic, that is until caretaker would pull them into a hug

Locking out victim's arm behind their back against the wall

Content: joint straining, fear, noncon touch, begging

  • That extra twist after a joint is locked up, forcing out a strangled gasp of pain
  • "Ah! Wait--wait--"
  • That freeze as victim realizes the position they're trapped in
  • Aggressor taking that moment to slide a hand into victim's front pocket, just intimate enough to be able to play it off later while making victim squirm right now.
  • "I'm not resisting." Victim pants, feeling their folded wrist twitch in aggressor's hand. "I'm not re--Im not resisting, whumper, please!"

Whips in whump. Not like in a sexual way but for torture.

It's so good. Always a favorite.

  • The vulnerability of Whumpee as they're tied up and waiting
  • The slow, rhythmic punishment of it
  • The way it gets worse the longer it goes on
  • How Whumpee can clutch onto any bonds they're in
  • The way they're turned away from Whumper
  • The counting (especially when making them count)
  • The flinch as Whumper cracks the whip next to them before they start
  • The flinch after it's done
  • Especially when Whumpee has been stoic so far
  • Leaning their forehead against the pole
  • The sounds
  • Knees giving in halfway through
  • Collapsing when they're finally freed
  • The way the skin breaks, but maybe not right away
  • If Whumper is angry and just lets it all out, the slashes slowly slowing down as they let out their anger
  • When it's only a few and Whumpee is forced to just put their shirt back on and get back to work after (because it was a punishement)
  • Caretaker who is watching but can't do anything
  • Caretaker who can do something and runs to stand in between Whumper and Whumpee
  • Whumpee, clutching their bonds and weak; "don't. Just go."
  • Left outside after and it's raining

Yeah good stuff

there’s something about hands:

• splayed flat over someone’s chest, a warm, grounding anchor. “easy. easy. lay still.”

• knuckles raked across a sternum. “come on back now… that’s it. there you are. deep breaths for me.”

• the vulnerability of uncovering a painful wound to let someone else inspect it. “i promise i’ll be really gentle, but i have to take a look.”

• gently frantic. “oh my god. is that blood? is all of that yours?”

• A held captive, strung up to the rafters by their wrists. B finally rushes in, clutches A’s face in their hands, tips their chin up. desperately searches for any hint of awareness. “A. A, look at me. please look at me. i need a medic over here!”

• B’s cool hand pressed against A’s fever-hot forehead. bonus points if they cup the back of A’s head with the other hand at the same time. A closes their eyes and leans into the touch ever so slightly.

I love when whumpee and caretakers fight, but what I need is a whumpee that's annoyed with caretaker. They're not scared and falling back into compliance, they're not overly aggressive about it, just... a "normal" amount of frustration. And from an outside perspective, it's just a normal argument to any outside observer. And it is.... until later

later, whumpee feels awful. They were so mean and rude and ungrateful! Caretaker gives them patience and kindness and understanding and whumpee.... well what has whumpee ever given them? Anger? Stress? Whumpee doesn't deserve... they really are the worst, aren't they?

i love when a stoic rescued whumpee becomes more open because of a fever, drunkenness, etc and their friends/caretakers are freaked out by how wrong it feels to see them so carefree and open about their past.

like idk i just love the idea of the caretakers realizing that whumpee isn't acting like their usual self and if they let them share now they're going to regret it later so they try their best to just distract them or get them to bed. and the caretakers are curious as hell about whumpee's past but they just know it wouldn't be right to find out like this.

you know, whumpee getting triggered by seemingly innocent gestures or phrases said by caretaker is all fine and good, but what about the opposite?

a "see you soon" text sends caretaker into a panic because that was the last thing whumpee had said before getting abducted.

or

whumpee gets a small cut while cooking, but caretaker is fussing over them like they'll bleed out any moment.

Give me a whumper that manages to get an already messed up whumpee. One that walks in on whumpee having a panic attack, a flashback, and gives a cold dark smile.

"Well, well, well...." They'd chuckle, leaning against the doorframe. "What's gotten you so fucked up, hm?"

Have another absurdly specific prompt, on the house!

The team just can’t understand why Leader has to be so uptight all the time. They never loosen up. When anyone makes a single mistake, Leader scolds them for it, even if it’s a small thing that won’t make any difference in the end. It’s frustrating, how Leader can’t let even tiny errors go!

What the team doesn’t know- or maybe they find out somehow- is that the higher-ups blame, and punish, Leader for every single one of their team’s mistakes. They’re the one in charge, after all. It’s their fault, isn’t it?

Soft Gestures for Comfort

  • Bringing them a blanket when they’re curled up on the couch.
  • Whispering, "It’s okay, I’m here," when they wake up from a bad dream.
  • Stroking their hair gently when they’re lying on your lap.
  • Running a warm bath for them after a tough day.
  • Holding them close and saying, "I’ve got you," when they’re upset.
  • Preparing their favorite comfort food when they’re feeling low.
  • Turning off their alarm and letting them sleep in when they’re exhausted.
  • Reading their favorite book to them before bed.
  • Playing their favorite soothing music to help them relax.
  • Just sitting in silence with them, letting them know your presence is their safe space.
