☾ Writer and Poet ✩

🌜 Writeblr Intro ⭐

Hey there!

Francie here, aspiring author and poet.

I made this blog to connect with my fellow writers.

"Chaos" is the best word to describe my writing routine, and the genres I enjoy working with the most are fantasy and gothic.

I'm also a very eclectic bookworm and a proud cat mom.

Let's be mutuals !!!

I think one of the best pieces of writing advice I ever got was to ask yourself constantly, 'What is the most interesting thing that can happen right now?' Whether you have writer's block or you feel like you're simply moving in a generic/uninspired direction with a project. Stop, and treat your story to a little chaos.

Just write the thing. for 5 minutes. If there's more than 5 minutes of work, great. If not, you had the 5 minutes

“Be curious about what you’re writing about” is not stock Common Writing Advice but it really, really should be. There are a lot of written works that fail due to the authors just being obviously incurious about what they are writing about.

Introducing the Writer Kinks:

1. The comma (,)

2. The semicolon (;)

3. The em dash (—)

4. The Overused italics

5. The Fragments (Because. Drama.)

6. THE ALL CAPS

7. The Ellipses (...)

Honorable Mentions: Long metaphors, parentheses (bonus thoughts) and repititions.

Because why write a concise sentence when you can string together 37 thoughts into one grammatical monstrosity.

The oxford comma!!!!!!

i have so many projects planned out in my head that will probably never see the light of day because every time I open my docs i just stare at my screen and daydream about the projects instead of actually writing them

The stuggles of being a writer.

A shame that I have to actually finish my book before I get to read it. I enjoy writing it just as much but I am looking forward to finishing my first book and getting to read through it, even if I do know what's going to happen.

the “i’ll fix it in edits” stage is just a euphemism for “idk what’s happening here but i’m ignoring it”

Learning to leave some questions unanswered for a while is like trying to grow wings. It’s hell. I’m too autistic for this
