Frozen Eclipse Wolf

@frozeneclipsewolf

I reblog anything and everything the hampster in my head tells me to Sorry not sorry

Dude has a death wish

Delighted to announce this bird is real and is a corvid.

Truly the family that just keeps giving.

I haven’t seen it in the notes yet, so afaik, here’s the source of that video! So now you can see the funny poison bird much more clearly.

It was taken by a biologist that studies birds so it seems like he knows what he’s doing. For the most part. Here’s his caption:

You all know that he 100% licked his fingers after handling that bird

I can’t leave this in the tags, I’m sorry.

generally i feel that people assume things are more accessible than they are. especially in medical settings. because like a hospital is where you would need to cater to people's health conditions right. so what do you mean that they can't accommodate allergies? a dr's office is where disabled people and people with chronic conditions go, so why aren't they wheelchair accessible? or as mentioned in an earlier reblog, why would they not have hoists for people. this is specifically the place where disabled people will need to go and go often right. this is the place that's meant to be able to cater to people with health conditions. except it's not, the ableism is baked into the system so regardless of how much sense it would make for a food venue to be able to handle food intolerances and allergies - they don't. they don't care, it's not been accounted for in the plan in the first place. they expect to deal with uncomplicated "normal" issues daily and see disabled people as some sort of annoying exception to manage on a case by case basis. and if every place, every venue, every service sees disabled people as an inconvenient exception, a small minority they don't have to implement accommodations and plan for, then the vast majority of public life is inaccessible for disabled people.

A friendly fox in Pripyat, Chernobyl exclusion zone

*happy cheerful music as fox plays in deserted nuclear radiation land*

This is the aesthetic

Fun facts about the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone:

1) Most of it is pretty safe, even for long periods of time. In fact about 200 native people still live there, but no new settlement is allowed, so that number has declined from about 1200 after the zone was created in 1986.

2)The zone has become an unintentional animal reserve. Its ~1000 square miles of uninhabited forest. Poaching happens, but not to the degree one might expect due to the fear of radiation. Also as a consequence there are lots of human friendly animals like this fox. Most of the humans they do see are tourists that regularly feed them.

3) Its one big science experiment on post human occupation, environmental contamination, and radioactive degradation. Weve actually learned a hell of a lot about what would happen to a city after everyone leaves and how nature takes back over thanks to the city of Pripyat. And how the environment adapts to sudden changes and evolves. A fungus was desvovered in and around the Chernobyl Disaster Site that creates chemical energy out gamma radiation emitted from the melted down core. Something biologists had only theorized as even possible a few years ago, and heres this fungus feeding on it. Its crazy man!

dear usamerican high schoolers looking for a way to resist fascism: sit through the pledge of allegiance.

no getting up. no looking at the flag.

everyone will be looking at you. you'll be sweating like a fucking hippopotamus. your teacher will sternly tell you to get up. you'll feel stupid and that maybe its not worth it because you're just a kid in a classroom. but I'm here to remind you that there are no real life consequences to detention. there are however real life consequences to resisting a thoughtless performance of nationalism.

not to talk tough but i have sat through every pledge of allegiance in my life, and that includes the bush administration's hyper-patriotic war on terror.

you can NOT be compelled to say the pledge, and that also means you can't be given the 'choice' of doing it or taking a punishment. being sent into the hall is a grey area.

if you are punishing for refusing, parents or a more sympathetic teacher (like say a history or english teacher) can step in to intercede with the principal. do not be afraid to escalate.

it is critical now of all times that you PRACTICE civil disobedience, starting small, sticking to it, and working up, this will help you learn how very much disobedience you can actually get away with in this life, which is actually a hell of a lot.

I'd like to draw attention to a couple of stories where immigrants were detained by ICE--a mother and her 3 children in New York and a couple who owned a kebab shop in New Jersey--but in both cases, they were released after outrage from their respective communities. The superintendent of the children's school was "leading efforts to ensure the family's release" in the NY case, and Haddon Township residents donated over $300,000 to the NJ couple's GoFundMe for their legal fees.

This is why it matters for communities to support its members and speak out against injustice. This administration will not do everything it wants as long as people keep fighting back.

Jack: “So who’s getting assigned to SG-1 while Daniel is gone?”

Hammond: “no one. You’re all over due for some personal leave”

Hammond internally: also you’re all pack bonded and something insane happens whenever we replace one of you & the replacement ends up evil, dead or both.

Me waking up: why is this Stargate post suddenly getting a bunch of notes?

Finding out that ao3’s tumblr has reblogged it:

You are not experiencing higher than expected call volumes. You refuse to hire sufficient staff to take care of exactly the amount of calls you should be getting as the facility you are.

Looks like I won’t be marrying Penelope…

Hopefully the upcoming film will have enough budget for the other 11 axes!

BTS, art refs and more here

maybe im a stupid asshole but one of my biggest tumblr pet peeves is when i see a popular post that DEFINITELY got posted to r/curatedtumblr or put in a funniest tumblr posts video or whatever and the post is the 3 or 4 original reblogs that make up the og post and then like 25 reblogs in a row of different people all saying some variation of "I CANT BELIEVE I FINALLY FOUND IT" or mentioning hellsite-hall-of-fame or something

this is so valid but i’m so sorry, we (the tumblr masses) could do the funniest thing here

Oh my god I finally found the post

IVE ONLY SEEN THIS POST IN SCREENSHOTS

IT'S IN MY DASH?????? SUCH A HONOUR

I'VE ONLY EVER SEEN THIS ON PINTEREST OR INSTAGRAM

Wait did fame @ themselves

yes, yes I did

"there's a guy in the walls" movies exist in a universe that I fucking WISH was real. imagine how easy it would be to install stuff in walls if the space behind a wall was not 3.5 inches/8.9 cm deep and I could get my whole self in there. of course that would mean a guy could get in there too, but what are the odds.

<currently blogging from inside this idiot's walls>

PLEASE help me feed these ethernet cables downstairs or I'm gonna kill myself before you get a crack at me

thread it down here champ, we'll get this installed come hell or high water

you are the best scary murderer who could have ever crawled into my walls
