Context for my blog:

While I do have posts exploring headcanons for the Kemamoto-mura gang on this very blog, it's been roughly four or five years since I first made those posts... I don't have much faith in 14 year old Alina to effectively demonstrate my headcanons and choices for this group of characters, and so I wanted to make a post offering quick summaries and explanations for anyone who may be confused or curious as to my choices.

I know as well that I am definitely not the spokesperson for these characters nor am I the only one to have headcanons for them (I might jokingly call myself the Fumizou CEO but that's been a running joke since I was once again 14), so please know my ask box is always open for people to ask questions and discuss/debate/share headcanons. This doesn't just count for the Kemamoto-mura gang either - while they are 100% my niche in Youkai Watch, I have a lot of untapped love for other characters and I'm always open to any questions or discussions!

TO BE SERIOUS THOUGH im so glad to hear youre coming back to ykw2, its one of the best games ever in my definitely not biased opinion!!! i replay it quite regularly and i have a complete save file i often visit when writing my fumizou fics for setting references (which im so so glad you enjoyed!!!), but then again im a notorious rpg replayer. pokemon omega ruby hates to see me coming

gang can yall like drop fumizou fic requests (platonic or romantic) for the first time in my 5 years ive hit a roadblock of zero ideas and fumizou day is in a week 🥲

(PREFACING THIS BY SAYING I AM NOT THE SOLE CONTRIBUTOR BUT RATHER THE FIRST TO WRITE THEM ON AO3)

a bit of a belated post but given. the announcements. i will say that while holy horror mansion is utilising AI, i will not interact with it.

while there are ethical methods of utilising AI in the creative industry and i am not wholly averse to it as a whole - my girlfriend's a tech nerd for crying out loud, i am continuously learning of unethical and ethical divides - level-5 has cited that they use AI in the conceptual stages to 'work from'. to me, this is a gross misconduct and breaches ethical utilisation. if the very base idea is founded on poached content from AI like chatgpt (which contributes to environmental decline), even if it is adapted and developed from that, it sets a precedent that the final product will be sloppy and its foundation is not entirely its own. i am open to discussion and learning more about this of course, but to me yokai watch was always a franchise founded upon incredible designs. the yokai, the backgrounds, the mechanics... all of it was unique yet founded on mundane everyday things, and that really drew me in as a young child.

it just feels wrong that they're using AI for concept when concept is arguably the stage where human hands are most necessary. if it were built upon stuff within level-5 - like its own previous concept art - i would perhaps be a little more comfortable, because AI being an assisting tool is ethical. but from what i know, this isn't the case. i can only pray level-5 understands the complaints and does not utilise it further, though even the concepts being founded on AI feels so wrong to me.

forgive the lengthy and formally worded post, when i'm feeling a bit more like myself i'll be back to the regular scheduled alinaisms!
