FAQ

"I don't understand the prompt/challenge, help!"

Worry not! These morals are up to interpretation and the aim is to spark creative responses. Don't forget, you can also replace any day with any Alt Prompt!

"Is there a banner I can use?"

Yep! I'll put it at the top of this post, though it's not mandatory.

"Do I need to tag NSFW/triggers?"

I ask that you do for the sake of other readers, but if you forget to, your work won't be disqualified. It's just a courtesy that should be followed for everyone's safety and comfort.

"I disagree with this moral."

Excellent! Write something that challenges it or twists it! Creativity is the goal.

Monster Lover's March 2025

Alright, I (@alpaca-clouds) asked on my blog if other people might be interested in participating in a challenge for the monster lovers among us.

We all know the monthly challenges: There are 31 prompts (or rather 31 x 3 prompts - as for every day there is a monster, a smut prompt and a more fluffy prompt). You can do as many or as little as you want. The only prerequisit is, that it features monsterous characters in some way. (There will be a definition post linked later on for it.)

Without further ado: Here are the prompts.

You will find a quick overview for the rules - and the full list of prompts under the cut!

Here they come, it's the March of the Blorbos here at the Prompt Foundry!

We all have our favorite characters and character archetypes, so let's celebrate, share, and play with them!

Bring out your poor little meow meows and babygirls, feral children and human weapons, whether they're blorbo from your shows or blorbo from your brain, show your love for the characters that live rent free in your head with fic, art, analysis, cosplay or whatever form your creativity takes.

Feel free to combine different days’ prompts with each other, or combine them with other events.

If you use this list, please tag me here @thepromptfoundry, I’d love to see your writing and art!

Respond to as many prompts as you want or as interest you, don’t worry about missing or skipping any. Remember, this is supposed to be fun!

The Whumps of March: 2025

This is a multi-fandom whump event with prompts inspired by literature. For the second year of this event the prompts are inspired by the Father of Modern Fantasy, J.R.R. Tolkien.

Rules and Info:

  • You can make your entries in whatever format you desire (Fanfic, art, Gifs, etc)
  • You can do as much or as little as you desire.
  • All entries are to be uploaded during March 2025. Earlier is discouraged but late is fine.
  • Tag all works #thewhumpsofmarch2025
  • There will be a completionist and participant badges.
  • A link to the AO3 collection will be added here closer to the event

Feel free to send me an ask if you have any questions about the event.

[ID: a banner with a light blue background. On the left a heart outline with an infinity symbol intertwined in a darker blue. To the bottom right, dark blue text with a thin black outline that reads: Multiamory March 2025 in all caps. Under that it reads: March 1st - March 31st. /End ID]

This is the fourth post to help expand on the prompts for anyone who needs a little more to go on than just one word. We hope these ideas help inspire people, but they are only a jumping-off point and there will of course be plenty more interpretations we didn’t think of!

March 10th — Meet the family

How do they navigate introducing multiple partners—do they bring everyone along, or stagger introductions? What are their family’s reactions, and how do they handle questions or misunderstandings? Maybe a character is anxious about acceptance, while another reassures everyone. Perhaps there’s a moment where a family member embraces the polycule, or a tense one where boundaries are tested. How do they support each other through it all? This could also be outside people meeting the poly family, or new partners introduced to existent partners as family.

March 11th — Pining

Is your character pining for someone? Maybe for two people who are dating? Are there two characters pining for the same person? Maybe they’re navigating the ache of wanting a partner who seems oblivious, or the complexity of desiring a metamour. What do they do—do they channel it into thoughtful gestures or retreat into daydreams and/or angst? Perhaps they’re wrestling with whether to confess their feelings, worried about disrupting the balance, or exploring the joy and frustration of watching someone they care for thrive in other relationships. How does the polycule respond if the truth comes out—support, awkwardness, or a long-awaited resolution?

March 12th — Explaining the polycule

This can take many forms, from diagrams explaining the relationships within a polycule to art with someone reacting to the polycule, or fic that explores how the characters deal with the ordeal. Are they open and straightforward, or do they prefer to keep things private? Maybe it’s a character nervously introducing a new partner to the rest of the group, or a moment where someone has to break down what a polycule is to a curious but clueless friend or family member. Does the explanation focus on love, or do they lean on humor to make it less intimidating? How do they navigate reactions—whether it’s support, confusion, or pushback? For a more meta interpretation, take us on a tour of your more complex polycules, we're so ready to get on that ride.

Our fourth Alt Prompt is…

Alt Prompt #4: Dancing

It can be a joyful expression, a form of rebellion, or a secret language between partners. It might focus on the physicality—bodies moving in sync, the tension of a near touch, or the freedom of losing yourself to the music. Emotionally, it can capture the exhilaration of a first dance, or the nostalgia of an old routine. There’s also the drama: a dance as a challenge, a rivalry, or an unspoken confession. It could also explore the awkwardness of learning new steps or the unexpected connection between strangers on the dance floor.

ID: A poster for "Multiamory March 2025", which takes place from March 1st to March 31st. The alt prompt #4 is "Dancing." The design has a blue gradient background with interlocking heart symbols in the top corners.

The central image shows four women dressed in flowing white dresses and flower crowns, dancing in a sunlit forest clearing. They appear happy and free, moving among tall trees.

#mARTch 2025 prompts!

F.A.Q

do i have to draw every day? nope! the 10 days marked with a star are the main ones! please focus on them and skip any other days you need if you're tired/busy/not interested/falling behind :)

do i have to make polished/finished art? nope! these prompts are just intended for daily warmup/practice, you don't need to make anything fancy :)

event tag? #mARTch or #mARTch2025

can you share/promote my entries? yep! i try to share everything from the tags to @bweirdevents during the event — but tag search sucks sometimes, so if i miss something, sorry! i also can't guarantee i'll share anything on other sites, archiving on tumblr already takes up most of my day!

can i re-upload your prompt list? PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS — i have accounts on most sites, just reblog/retweet/share from me

for more info, visit my website for a detailed explanation of every prompt, or join the event server to ask a question directly!
