i know kasumi says something about a lot of people wanting to see garrus and shepard get together but it's so weird to me like. we're on a cerberus ship with a cerberus crew right. why is everybody suddenly chill like that. you're telling me there's not even one guy in the CIC or whatever that would think a human/alien relationship is disgusting. where's the tension!!! the drama!!! i want unpleasant ramifications of working with a human supremacist terrorist group!!!

#i mean obviously its the narrative softening cerberus up in the second game for. some reason#and then they go back to being maniacs in the third HAHAHA#idk i think its just a result of weird writing and i choose to ignore it in my own fics and junk

i can't speak on how common it truly is - i might have been seeing a lot of it within the past few weeks/months not because there is necessarily more of it but because of some other mysterious tumblr algorithm related reason. i'm really not sure tbh :(

true it is an inevitability that this happens in fandom πŸ˜” i guess my concern was that it seems to me like it's becoming more common - although i'm not seeking the content out, it just comes up on my fyp, so maybe it's the algorithm playing tricks on me.

i feel like ive been seeing more fandom discourse that boils down to "shakarian fans are the worst and i hate them!" and it's really really weird. like it has to be a morality thing - you're not allowed to like any character that's ever done anything bad, ever, or something. idk. maybe it's a little googoo gaga sensitive baby of me but it's off-putting and concerning to think that there's a chunk of people on here who might actively hate me for something so trivial. i'm not out here making snide comments about xyz fans or whatever so what gives

#at my core im a 'lets all hold hands and be friends and sing kumbaya :)' kind of person#i also know its unrealistic and some people are just mean and everyone is better off if they leave you alone#still makes me sad though
