I just wanted to tell you that Wonderful Nothing is.....wonderful. Thank you for taking the time and care to put such a thoughtful, insightful, technically skilled piece of writing out there into the world. A couple choice favorite elements: setting this in season 3 which I think is a period both underdiscussed and juicy and all the Dennis and Dee stuff. Actually since I read it I cannot stop thinking about the single line about Dennis, deep into their detox, brushing Dee's teeth for her. It's just so visceral. God they make me sad.
Anyway THANKS for your writing you get Sunny and you GET Dennis and I can't wait to see what's next!!

the teeth brushing thing — yeah. Yeah. You gotta love someone like crazy, I mean CRAZY, to brush their teeth for them. Dee and Dennis can't be nice to each other's faces but they can watch TV with the sound off when someone is hungover and help each other brush their teeth when their bodies can't withstand it. And that's enough
episode where dennis finds out that mac actually never stopped going after the women he's hooked up with -- but now instead of wanting sloppy seconds, mac just approaches them in a gay best friend way and gets them to vent about the details of hooking up with dennis.
most of the women make a point of how bad the sex was, but mac is still into it somehow.
The fact that Mac gets into it by listening to the girls recap their experiences with Dennis is canon in the script, so it's basically just like cutting off the tail end of his system (which, lets be honest, how often did he ever get there anyway?)

why is dennis wearing a hard rock cafe shirt from a place he has never been in kitten mittens? weirdly out of character. like I swear we barely if ever see him in a t shirt any other time. I'm choosing to believe mac dragged him to goodwill on one of the 50% off days to cajole dennis into getting more shirts that mac could steal & wear later. this is the only explanation
