this is a comic my dear friend @wolf-aid had made using batman both because he’s a very dear character to me and because we are hoping that a popular character will bring more attention to the comic itself.

the comic says most of what i can say already — but i’ll say it again. ibrahim is an incredibly sweet young man who i’ve been close friends with for a few months now. he and his family need help to be warm, to eat, to get medicine, and to survive — hopefully soon they can escape their awful circumstances.

the reporting system on tumblr is genuinely awful. why does it take this much extra time to report hate speech again?

you can report something as sexually explicit in 2 seconds with no burden of proof. if you want to report hate speech you have to go into a submenu and then explain *twice* why it counts as hate speech. you have necessarily created a system where people can easily mass report trans women's selfies as being sexually explicit while at the same time making it incredibly difficult and tedious to report users for calling black people slurs.

i genuinely rarely bother reporting transphobia on this fucking website because i do not want to type out a whole two messages explaining that it's transphobic every single time i see someone being bigoted, reporting bigotry should be easy, come the fuck on.

Hi everyone! Mahmoud has told me that so many of you have been generous with your time and given him a lot to work with for his website. From the bottom of my heart I thank you.

But unfortunately I also bring difficult news from Mahmoud. His family is running out of food. They haven't been able to acquire bread for 2 days as of now.

To give you an idea, Mahmoud has to risk a difficult journey due to thieving gangs hired by the occupation to steal aid, and then pay 1300 shekel for a single sack of flour.

That's about $350 USD for flour that lasts less than a week to feed a family of around 20 people.

I don't have the words to describe the situation enough. My friend is hungry. Please help him.

I am Musab Ahmed. I once had a home, I once had a life… but now, everything I knew is nothing but rubble. My house was completely destroyed by the relentless bombing that took away even our memories.

My body did not escape this war—I was injured in my shoulder, underwent surgery, but I still need another operation to regain my full mobility. Yet, the greatest pain is not mine… it’s the pain of my daughter Lama, whose little hand could not withstand the bombing. She was injured and had to have a metal plate implanted in her hand, and we are still struggling to get her the treatment she needs.
