Time Travel AU (prologue)

this is just Danny’s backstory the next part is the actual time travel bit
inspired by this post from @hello-eden and @gaddaboutgriffon (i recommend going through all the reblogs there’s some great ones)

Daniel James Fenton lived a tragic, short life. Orphaned at a young age, adopted by Jack and Maddie Fenton a few years later. Neglected by everyone but his older sister, who was a child herself. Bullied by almost all of his peers, despite interference from caring teachers. Barely surviving a terrible lab accident due to his parents’ negligence, then suffering through bouts of depression and chronic pain in the year following, only to die unremarkably at 15 due to long-lasting effects from the accident. He was mourned by his sister and two best friends, as well as a few community members, but was overall barely a blip on everyone’s radar. His parents—who were already thought to have a few screws loose—went insane after his death, most likely from guilt, and joined a shady government agency that was hunting ghosts and terrorizing innocent civilians. His sister and best friends fled town as quickly as they could, but were said to be doing well for themselves.

At least, that’s what the gossip of Amity Park said.

In reality, Danny Fenton lived a much more tragic, much shorter life.

So I made a little dead on main Tangled!AU where Danny is Rapunzel and Jason is Flynn. Danny have magical white heir and when he sings it's glows and his eyes glow green. When Jason cuts his heir short in the end it turns black. It really fits perfectly. I also draw Danny really short, you can't tell me all this heir doesn't slow his growth. And also he's just short king.

Vlad is Mother Gothel because come on, it fits too good. I also changed Stabbington brothers on dc characters of trigger twins (I know about them from wiki and nothing else).

I also didn't forgot Pascal. Cujo is instead of Pascal but he's still a dog so he can't climb on Danny.

perhaps an unpopular opinion but I hate how the writers handled maddie’s entrance to the show and her entire relationship with buck. like “oh here’s the sister i haven’t seen in ten years because she abandoned me (even if it was an abusive relationship it was still no contact) and also she broke into my apartment to use my shower, let me welcome her with open arms and not question it at all.” and then they just jump into being siblings again, when realistically there would be some distance and getting to know each other again after ten years of silence. and then maddie comes in with this image in her head that buck is still the little boy she had to take care of, and still treats him like that. and that raises some issues with me, especially when she treats him like he’s not an adult who can make his own decisions. and i know she’s really traumatized, but god damn get that girl some therapy. and she also didn’t want buck to be a firefighter again? which tells me that she def didn’t take the time to know buck again, instead just pretending nothing changed since they were kids. cause firefighting is his whole life and he would literally die without it, but she wanted him to quit (ik she’s was just scared, but still. bad writing)

don’t get me started on how the entire 118 handled the lawsuit and turned it into a joke of how “haha bucks so dumb he sued us” and made him go through this hazing ritual before he was allowed back on calls instead of man behind, and then never apologized? even though canonically if buck hadn’t dropped it he would’ve won the lawsuit and got a massive check from the city? and everyone just turned that into all bucks fault?

but i digress. really i just dislike how the writers neglected to show the crucial bonding and build up of buck and maddie’s relationship and instead went right into that close sibling bond that realistically wouldn’t exist after so many years apart. there was so much potential wasted and it pisses me off

my favorite thing in batfam fics is when they find out tim doesn’t have a sleep and it’s just:

bruce: tim why didn’t you tell anyone you lost your spleen? this is important medical information

tim: because i didn’t lose it. i know right where it is.

bruce: well it’s not in your body, so where is it?

tim: oh ra’s has it

bruce: *facepalm*

jason: *laughing*

when i can’t tell if ive read a fic before or if its just based off of a tumblr prompt ive read before

no capes au where bruce is put in therapy right after his parents death, and alfred is actually his dad and they both acknowledge that relationship even if it looks a little different. and maybe alfred struggles, because bruce is a traumatized neurodivergent child, but they work through it together with healthy outlets instead of violence.

and then bruce still ends up going to the circus one night as a young adult, and he can’t help but request to foster a young dick grayson once he learns the boy is in a group home. and he gets that boy some therapy like alfred gave him.

and then one evening years later he’s in crime alley at some shelter he started and as he’s walking to his car he sees this scrappy little kid stealing his tires, and his heart had just signed adoption papers. bruce takes him home and a teenage dick is the one who makes jason feel comfortable there.

and maybe jason, anxious and an outsider at this preppy rich kid school, befriends a young genius tim drake who skipped a few grades. and he can’t help but notice that the kid is left alone a lot. and of course bruce takes him in, his heart is big even if his words are small.

imagine a year or two later, and cps contacts bruce because they know he’s good and has a foster license. there’s this girl, mute, difficult, severely traumatized, and they need an emergency placement. and then comes cass. and obviously bruce can’t let her go now, he finally has a daughter.

then damian is dropped on his doorstep, angry and in an unfamiliar place, and bruce doesn’t even care that this one is his biologically, he has another son to take care of.

imagine throughout all of this bruce is doing his best as ceo of wayne enterprises, funding all sorts of resources across the city and actually making a difference.

idk i just think that in a universe where dc didn’t need gotham to be perpetually bad and unredeemable so that batman had a reason to keep existing, i think bruce could’ve accomplished something on a systemic level without needed to beat up the little people the systems in place are fucking over, and he probably would’ve been different
