I have the object permanence of an infant, so when I'm in a flare up I'm like, "this is unsurvivable, how can I work, how can I live, I will be in grotesque pain for the rest of my life", and then when the flare up ends I'm like "oh wow I guess it was all fake and I was faking. everything is fantastic!"
