But the darkness pulls in everything- shapes and fires, animals and myself, how easily it gathers them! - powers and people- and it is possible a great presence is moving near me. I have faith in nights.
There can be no perfection or rising above all that is natural, only endless cycles of accumulation and erosion, disappearances and emergences played out on every conceivable scale. It is not our job to transcend our troubles and vulnerabilities, but to let the waters run through and over, and do their work. When something falls apart, another thing opens. We cannot know what will be better or worse, only that it will be different.

Just got to Skeleton Island in Black Sails, and the transition from 'gritty, realistic prestige drama' to 'prequel to Treasure Island' is stark.
Skeleton Island doesn't look like other Black Sails settings. It looks like the location of Treasure Island.
