Itβs no use!
When you were growing up, how were told this riddle?

Iβm bald
1. βYou have a wolf, a goat, and a cabbage, and must get them across the river. The wolf canβt be left alone with the goat, etc, etc.β
2. "You have a fox, a chicken, and some seeds, and you must get them across the river. The fox canβt be left alone with the chicken, etc, etc.β
number 2, and I've only ever heard of this riddle because of Poptropica
Hereβs a thing that happened to one of my friends. I was there.
Basically, we were walking down the sidewalk, talking about something meaningless. I think it had to do with a movie. Then this bus screeches up, stops next to us, and a bunch of people with βDown with Cisβ shirts climbed out and started beating him up. I was punched and kicked a bit too, but I managed to avoid brutalization by going for their faces. After figuring out whatβs happening, I started attacking them back, getting them off of him. He was quite injured but I called 911 and he made a full recovery at the hospital. I was fine, with only a cut on my arm that they patched up.

Rest in peace, River Boy. Weβll listen to you, still.
Edit, and for context:
May his memory be a blessing.
Willem ArondΓ©us (22 August 1894 β 1 July 1943) was a Dutch artist and author who joined the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance movement during World War II. He participated in the bombing of the Amsterdam public records office to hinder the Nazi German effort to identify Dutch Jews and others wanted by the Gestapo. ArondΓ©us was caught and executed soon after his arrest. Yad Vashem recognized ArondΓ©us as Righteous Among the Nations.
Their attack, which took place on 27 March 1943, was partially successful, and they managed to destroy 800,000 identity cards, and retrieve 600 blank cards and 50,000 guilders. The building was blown up and no one was caught on the night of the attack. However, due to an unknown betrayer, ArondΓ©us was arrested on 1 April 1943. ArondΓ©us refused to give up the rest of his team.
ArondΓ©us was openly gay before the war and defiantly asserted his sexuality before his execution. His final words were:
"Tell the people that homosexuals are not by definition weak."
