🚧UNDER CONSTRUCTION🚧

Hi ho, Hazel here!! πŸ’š

After some consideration, I've decided to stop keeping a taglist and go with a fic side blog.

The decision was a long time coming, but it doesn't make sense to spend time making taglists with so little response, and I dont want to bother people who don't want to be bothered. I will continue to tag @pedrostories and other library/archive blogs or those that run them such @littlemisspascal. If you run one and would like to be tagged, just let me know. Y'all are doing the lord's work, and I don't want to make it harder for you.

So, in a nutshell, I will be postin fic updates and new fic on my main blog, and cross posting it here, where you can find it without having to dig through all my other silliness. If you want to follow and set this blog for notifications, you will get a heads up whenever I post anything new.

(I am still working on getting them posted on my ao3 done, too. If you prefer to read there, you can find me under the same - grogusmum.)

Thanks to everyone who has supported and cheered on my writing. πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Before retiring my taglist, I will be using it to make sure past readers know about the change

Oh Hazel ! Thank you so much for this little message. I’m in a phase of self doubt so this is perfect (I have to push the publish button for my next fic and I’m nervous/think it’s terrible)

A Galaxy Far Far Away au: Part 1 First Contact

DIN DJARIN X EARTHING F!READERΒ

WARNINGS: none to speak of yet. Its all fluffy up in here.

WORD COUNT: 1100ish

SUMMARY: In an effort to keep Din’s son safe from Imps and bounty hunters, he sets a course to a far away galaxy.Β

It was a gamble. Setting this course. But the last skirmish was a close one, too close and protecting Grogu, was his only priority.

He was going further than he had ever gone, and he hoped the Crest could handle it. It was a young galaxy, so young there was literally only one complex life sustaining planet. The humanoid life was not very advanced, they had only ever been as far as their own moon, let alone beyond their own galaxy.

But perhaps, this insular planet was the key to Grogus safety.

Pedro's Birfday and Ficiverary!!

When I posted this, my blog was only 2 months old! I can't believe this fic is 4 years old (and my blog!)

Actually, I wanted to know if Bookshop Ezra and Tinker Girl ever end up getting married. I know it was a lot to make her co-owner of the bookshop, but I really want to see them get married.

That is a very good question!!! But my question to you is... what is it that makes marriage special for you?

Declaration of love and trust and wanting to spend a life together? That's why Ezra included her as an owner of the Bookshop.

The romanticism of it all? I mean, Bookshop Ezra is plenty romantic I'd say.

A public celebration of their love? Ah. I think Tinker's a bit shy for that. All the people that she loves and cares for were in that closet when the signing of the deed happened and she could barely keep it together.

In many ways, their relationship echoes my own thoughts on marriage. While it is a wonderful act and a hell of a party, I think that not being married is even more of a statement of trust, and trust is my kink. Either party has the ability to leave whenever they want, no strings attached. There is no legal tether, only love and the choice to stay.

I was with my SO for 14 years and neither of us had any need to get married. We chose each other every day. We lived in his house until he decided to include me on the mortgage so we owned a house together. And that was extremely official for us. It meant we wanted to stay there together, make a home, and build our support and future together.

We did get married in December, but it was just the two of us and two friends at a counter in a busy government center. Neither one of us wanted to make a big deal or put ourselves in debt with a big party. (We're both stage performers and we dress up fancy and get attention all the time. We don't need to pay for it--we GET paid for it!) The only reason we finally decided to sign the papers was because I've got health problems and he uses power tools unsupervised and we live in a government that won't let us visit each other in the hospital if things go awry and we're not legally family. (Well, that and I was terrified of what Project 2025 might do to the country and I need there to be no doubt that we are a legal unit.) Other than legal reasons, we probably would have been content just as we were for the long haul.

Ezra and Tinker live in a far-future society that has a lot of wiggle and squirm in its rules (according to any background you go digging for of the Prospect cannon). Marriage might not even be a thing anymore by that time. It seems like folks there make their own settlements and their own rules and their own families.

Ezra worked hard (and lost a limb) for the aurelac that bought that store. He waited a year to give her a part of everything he had, and even then, he was nervous and kept asking her if she was happy with him. I don't think he's ever been so content and felt so secure as when she said yes and signed that paper. And even if they weren't the focus of the festivities that day, there was still celebration and joy spent with loved ones. If that's not the equivalent of a wedding, I don't know what is.

I'll love them -

god this is embarrassing imagine saying this. imagine saying these words in that order. imagine thinking that thats an own. i genuinely cannot think of a more succinct way of saying "ive never listened to a single green day song before" elon did you really think you were the good guy in american idiot. are you kidding me. kill yourself

imagine being the literal richest person in the world and not thinking you're the machine

love green day for pissing off these losers with the same song for two decades and counting.

I want to remind everyone they have been doing this since the last trump admin. And did this at the American Music Awards. It was not rehearsed, it was not sanctioned -

On the contrary, the host had promised no politics... but um, dude? In the of our lord 2016, you invited Green Day.
