Concept: Depressing dystopian factory where everything is gray and samey and the workers are called by their employee numbers by an ominous deep voice.

But it's a really great place to work with high salaries, excellent benefits, and a flexible working schedule with plenty of paid leave. They just like the dystopian aesthetic.

PA system: Worker 72094. Leave your working station and report to the Supervisor immediately.

L starts with “Light-kun”? to which Yagami replies with a curious hum. The detective continues “I have a question I have been meaning to ask you.” Kira replies out loud with “A question?” while thinking: “Dammit... another test to gauge my likelihood of being Kira... What could it be this time? Have I done something Suspicious? Darn... The bastard knew just when to catch me off guard…”. L then asks “What are your pronouns?” to which the highschool student replies out loud with a question “My pronouns?” while thinking: "Fuck!!! I wasn't expecting that! What does he mean by this? Do I just say he/him? But that's how we've been referring to Kira! I can't afford any more similarities… Should I just leave it ambiguous and say they/them? but Kira is ambiguous! That would raise L's suspicion for sure... What about a neopronoun? But I'm only a teenage guy in the early 2000s! That would shatter my cool straight guy persona, I shouldn't even know what a neopronoun is! I'm taking too long to respond... I need to say something, fast!" Then Light says out loud: “She/her” while thinking “Fuck!”. End: ID 1]

[ID 2: A continuation of the above comic. L looks surprised and is silent and Yagami is clearly uncomfortable, also silent. Then the detective thinks quietly: “I see... A trans villain. In hindsight I suppose it explains a lot, but I admit this is an unexpected outcome. What does she expect me to do with this information? Am I to refer to her as such in front of the investigation team? In public? Or is this something I'm expected to keep between us? I need to tread carefully to maintain her trust and expose her as Kira without being transphobic. She knows she's put me in a very precarious position, socially speaking. I can't afford to slip up here. I know just what to do.” L says out loud “Me too”. End: ID 2]

[ID 3: A continuation of the comic by a different artist. First panel shows L in girlmode, with some make-up, piercings and jewelry. The detective holds a red lipstick while thinking: “The more I think about it, the more sense it makes that Light--and by extension Kira--has been trans this entire time. Her obsession with punishing male criminals specifically must be a manifestation of her deep hatred for own masculinity, and being forcibly grouped together with a population she sees as scum. Kira could very well be Light's attempt to remove herself from her perception of men: a park alter ego as a dark mirror for society.” On the second panel Yagami lets L apply lipstick to her mouth, also in girlmode, with a cat ear headband and some earrings. Light thinks: “If I want L to really believe I'm not Kira, I'll need to do more than convince her I'm a girl, I'll need to convince her Kira is a cis man. Kira has mostly killed men... killing women would be an easy way to seem misogynistic, but a sudden change in demographics might be suspicious to L. Maybe I could look back at Kira's previous behavior to see if there are any sexist patterns. Perhaps Kira is too misogynistic to consider women as "real" criminals…”. There is an arrow pointing to her with a text reading “no self-awareness that she already thinks that”. The remaining panels showcase Matsuda walking into the room while saying “Hey guys, we have the lead on the…” and pausing. He sees Light on a coffee table in aforementioned girlmode, in a skirt, a pair of tights and a pair of heels and L still applying lipstick to Kira’s face, in a skirt, boots and fishnet stockings. Both the detective and the serial killer pause for a minute in silence, in clear distress, with their faces blank. Matsuda asks, concerned: “…Am I interrupting something?” to which Light replies with “Not at all” and L adds “Join us, please”, both with wide smiles on their faces. End: ID 3]

Today we woke up to the sounds of huge explosions, because the Israeli occupation ordered the evacuation of our area to which we were displaced two days ago. My family and I miraculously escaped from the bombing and gunfire, knowing that this is the sixth time we have been displaced to another place this month! I don't know why all this is happening to us. I really wish to die. I am very tired and I wish to die so I can rest or I wish to get out of Gaza now. Please, I need your help so that I can leave and travel outside Gaza with my family. Here is my story. My family of five and I were living a peaceful and stable life in our beautiful little house. We worked hard to provide a decent life for our three children, and they were proud to see our children learn and grow in a safe and stable environment. But in a sudden moment, their lives changed forever.

The disaster happened when our house was completely destroyed due to the war. They lost everything: their home, their source of income, and even their children’s education. They became homeless and insecure, living in difficult and dangerous conditions. The children, who used to go to school with joy and hope, are now deprived of their most basic rights to education, and live in constant fear.

And now. My husband and I are trying hard to secure their basic needs, but we face great challenges. Every day is a struggle for survival, and an attempt to rebuild what they lost. Despite the pain and suffering, there is still hope in our hearts that we can rebuild our lives with the support of kind people. 💔🙏🙏
