I’ve been calling Vox Machina ‘Voxy M’ (but I’m saying Vock-ey M) in my head the past few days so here are other vague nicknames.

So other nicknames:

I was thinking of like a stereotypical modern au high school vox machina where twig bitch acne ridden nerd Percy gets to take the hottest girl in the school to the prom. No one knows how he did it (it’s because of his winning personality)

Like Vex as a teenager in the stereotypical high school drama would be that high achieving perfect student, beautiful and sexy and on a sports team and had has high grades, the perfect Princess of the school

And she has these walls up and is often mean to other teens, trying to be the perfect student so her dad will give her the time of day but he never does.

but around Percy she doesn’t feel like she has to be mean and he likes her for who she is.

Meanwhile Vax is the weird freak of the school and Keyleth is the teen activist who organises sit ins and plants flowers

Keyleth is the girl who has a ponytail in and wears baggy jumpers with paint on them and then stereotypical bullies are like ‘😔 she’s so ugly, who would ever date her?’ and then she wears her hair down and wears some fitting clothes and they’re like ‘wow never knew she was beautiful’

Percy can be very aloof and be like ‘I’m better off alone, no-one understands me😔’ and then Keyleth badgers him into being her friend

Maybe a less dark backstory, only his parents died, and he struggles to relate to ppl due to his grief and wants to hide away

He’s also a snotty little nerd who thinks he’s better than everyone else but gets better with the power of friendship

For this highschool, I'm imagining a private school that has boarding options so they're all boarding students. Like they're all from different parts of the country but they're at this top school.

Scanlan talks big game and is flashy and cocky, and is aloof and acts like he fits in with the big rich kids at the school. He acts like nothing bothers him at all and it can be hard for the others to relate to him.

But maybe Pike realises that he actually doesn't have anyone to go home for the holidays :( he's actually at the school on a scholarship and his mother died. And then obvs she invites him round to hers and pops with Grog for the holidays.

Because imagine this Scanlan, still insecure like he is in canon but with teen angst on top, makes up a story about yeah, his mum is dead, but his dad is a really wealthy businessman who is jetting off around the world. But he was a holdover for the previous year and spent the holidays alone and of course he doesn’t know his father. Pike eventually puts it together, and saves the day.

Like I was pretty happy with this stupid joke of a story but now I’m near tears about a scenario I’m putting an imaginary version of Scanlan in. I don’t need to do this, brain.

Vax would have been expelled from school a few times for graffiti and being a rebel against the system, man. He's so goth. The only time Vex really speaks against her clique of friends is when they diss Vax, she's like 'no you can't call him a weirdo. only I can call him that'.
