you may think that i love season six because i am a casgirl but actually i love it because i am a deangirl. i hate season eight because i am a casgirl

like season six is the perfect dean season. dean at his most deranged. he's in a failing relationship while there's something unknown wrong with sam (who just got back from being DEAD) and cas won't pay attention to him and he's surrounded by the campbells who are family and yet not family, and he is wrenched apart at the seams, tormented, utterly deconstructed. he feels confused, abandoned, so very afraid. and he lashes out! he is a caged animal and he acts it! everything is falling apart around him and he comes apart with it! even better, it's sort of... all in his head, it's all perfectly calculated to get the most reaction out of him possible while bringing the minimum of actual threat. season six is the perfect dean season.

season eight on the other hand annoys me as a casgirl because like. the angel stuff makes no sense at all in the context of godstiel (can i get some worldbuilding PLEASE sir) and it's really just a damsel in distress thing but without calling it that. AND it tries to strip away cas' "average angel thrown into the spotlight by an accident of fate" chops which suuucks. and it's just not a satisfying conclusion for the fallout of godstiel arc it just isn't. but it mostly exists to either woobify cas or just like. use him as a damsel in distress (but without actually ADMITTING to that so you can't even be fun with it like season eleven casifer arc).
