fanfic writers are so fucking awesome man. they write novel length fics that are sometimes even better than some published bestselling books written by professional writers. like fanfic writers are professional writers to me and they gift us their masterpieces for free. they give us something we can look forward to after a long day. something from which we can seek comfort when life is hard. something that can be our own little getaway. in a world of capitalism, despite everything, they give us all of these for free. like holy fuck. shout out to every fanfic writer. I wish all fanfic writers a very ‘I love you with all my heart and soul. I thank you from the bottom of my heart’

Honestly, I've asked myself this question so many times and sometimes I think I have the answer but I really don't think I actually know shit.
I guess the answer I keep coming back to is this fandom needs to understand fandom history more and learn more about fandom culture and the reason why we have certain fandom norms around shipping and censorship. I have tried a few times to make posts about it and sometimes I think it has helped. But overall, I think that what the issue is is that there are always new people cycling in and out of the fandom and they come in very fresh and brazen - myself included. I think its pretty clear though who are fandom veterans and who are trying fandom for the first time. I think one thing I keep coming back to is learning fandom terminology. Language and shared jargon is a great way for subcultures to understand each other. There are terms around shipping that really takes the judgment out of fandom practices that could really help a lot of people simmer down with how they talk about shipping (like OTP/NOTP, squick, Your Mileage May Vary, etc.)
But I don't have any hope of that happening because this is not the only fandom that has been having this new surge and cultural shift since the pandemic. It's happening in many fandoms and ACOTAR is huge and spread across many social media platforms. I think that the craziness is here to stay.
Also just in general this fandom needs more support for fanfic authors. So if you read this today, go leave a comment on a fic you have read recently or your favorite fic. Especially if you have never left a comment before. Make an author's day.

Wait kryptonian fangies…. Does that mean Clark also has fangies? And follow up because if so I feel he’d be more shy about them most of the time, does he do a kinda half smile to not flash them around to everyone?
Clark definitely has fangies. He's been very insecure about them for a long time so, yes, he tends to half smile to hide them. But with time, especially around the Justice League, he began to feel more confident and the other heroes can definitely see his kryptonian fangs when he laughs now.
Bruce definitely wishes he could have fangs too. Who can blame him? It fits his aesthetic.
